The streak is over
Today I bit the bullet and called the pulmonologist. Of course he wanted me to come in. Prior to the visit I also had to get another chest xray. I started to cough violently while being xrayed and the tech asked if I wanted to go to the ER. Since I was seeing my pulmonary doc right away, I said no. Actually it was just a run of the mill coughing fit for me. I guess it must look pretty bad if you haven't seen it before. A nurse said "It must hurt to cough like that". I responded "Only all the time." When I arrived at the pulmonologist's office I was immediately brought in to an examination room and given a breathing treatment. The doc checked me out and said my lungs were fairly clear. He suspects I have a sinus infection which is triggering my attacks. As I predicted in my last journal entry, I was put on antibiotics....and PRED! I already knew exactly what would happen before I went in. I guess that's why I put it off for a few days. I should be this accurate with my guesses when I'm buying my powerball ticket. Now my immediate future is going to be filled with breathing treatments, antibiotics and prednisone. I predict that I probably won't like it much. (God, I'm good!). Of course I do have a penchant for betting on sure things. Oh well, sometimes you eat the bear...sometimes the bear eats you. (I don't know what that has to do with anything..it's just a pithy little saying that I like.) So as I am now finishing my evening breathing treatment, I'll wrap things up. Be well,Tom p.s. The streak I referred to in my title was the months without a doctor's visit. I almost made it 2 months. I guess all good things come to an end. I guess I'll start a new streak. Let's see...it's now about 9 hours and counting. Good night,Tom
