THE STORMS OF LIFE
The storms of life, they come and go and we have no ideal where they go next.
Again the weather has decided to continue on a path of it's own...the sizes of
these Tornada's are unbelievable and destructions and loss of many lives and
homes...the pain that will be felt in the hearts of the many who has lost so very
much in a split second of time...Loss of their homes, loss of their families.......
I think of the mom and her three children, I believe they were in a tub, and one of
the children she held in her arms was taken from her from the high winds...
How horrible to think of this mother, as us mothers, as through the years all held
tight to our children to protect them from harm, yet the harm came and no matter
how hard we had held onto them something more horrible was able to sweep our
children from us....No matter how our child was taken from us...our pain we feel
are the same....it has cut through our hearts as these tornado's and winds have
cut through the fields of our states....not caring which area of destruction it would
take....just as us mom's....living in different area's of the world...the destruction
that came into our lives and took our children from us with no planned pathway.
As the storms have swept through and the destruction of the very rich homes
to the poorest of homes, from small businesses to the largest hospitals...these
storms just traveled....not making a decision of what area it was going to
take away. Just as us mom's here and other mom's that has not joined our
group....the storms came into our lives and the destruction that hit has broken
us into many pieces of pain. Some of us are just beginning of the journey
that the destruction has forced upon us....some of us are farther down the road,
yet we are still trying to repair our hearts that these storms that came into
our lives and suddenly no matter how hard we had held onto our child....our
child was snatched from us.....
As the many homes, and lives were touched by these horrible tornado's this year
as they begin to try to pick up the pieces of what is left of their lives.....
We too, us mom's no matter when we lost our child, we have tried to start to
pick up the pieces of our broken hearts and are trying to someway put the
pieces of our lives together again....As I see the horror of complete cities ripped
out in such short minutes of time, I wonder how long will it take to get all the
destroyed buildings, the debris, the rebuilding to make this towns once
again to start to look like normal.... ..............Just as we mom's, as we pick
up the pieces of our broken lives, each day we will try to pick up something
that we will start to rebuild the piece of our heart that was ripped apart the
day our child died.....
Will these towns ever be rebuilt to look as they did before the destruction.
Will these people ever feel the safety that that once felt before this horror
enter their lives. Their lives has been chanced forever.....nothing in their
lives will ever be the same.....yet somehow they will move forward....
they will carry with them the loss of their home, their safety-net, loss of many
special items that they treasured...They will carry these pains in their hearts
forever more.....in a split second everything changed for them......
As for us mom's...in a split second everything changed in our lives when we
lost our most dearest part of our lives....and as with the storms who has now
torn these peoples lives apart.....so has ours been...in time piece by piece
somehow we will start to rebuild a life....it will be a life different than we had
before, when we knew our arms could protect our child....but in time we will
take the steps that will be needed to rebuild the many lives who lost so much
as we have....we will move forward....we will always carry our burden, we will
feel our pain.....but we will someway, somehow take the baby steps needed
to begin our lives in a new way.........as the families of these storms they too
will begin to rebuild their lives....As these tornado's have destroyed so many
lives so too for us our lives have forever been changed when the storm hit our
deepest core and took our child from us.....We pray for ourselves and we pray
for the many that have and are enduring THE STORMS OF LIFE.........................

Your journal is a thought-provoking and beautiful piece. We do pray for ourselves and we do pray for the many who even now are just beginning this long journey of \"enduring the storms of life\". Your metaphor of having our children snatched from our very arms, with some, little or no warning, just as the winds of a tornado snatch a child from her mother\'s arms, says it all.
May you find a bit of peace and refuge from the storm of sadness and pain today.
Love and big hugs of comfort to you, dear Sandi ~ Debbie
This is truly a beautiful journal. You are such a gifted writer, in that you could put the thoughts in your mind and heart into insightful words that paint a very illustrious picture. Like Debbie said, your journal is thought-provoking and also transitions into a positive message. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece.
May your days bring much peace and many blessings. With Love and a tight Hug, Diane
How beautifully written Sandi, we must rebuild our lives as do the people who faced this fierce storm. We all understand all to well. Marcial
God bless you and bless all those that are suffering the loss.
Sandi you are so right, all that you say is true. Our lives have been ripped apart by our loss just as the towns are ripped apart by the tornadoes. Terry
Interesting analogy in this journal, Sandi. I have always admired those storm victims that realized that although they lost their material possessions, they publicly state that they are blessed by still having their families intact. They have their priorities right! It would still be tough to lose irreplaceable, treasured momentos...

Tornado weather should be within our area in around 2 hours..we have no basement...so planning on the tub if necessary....Pray our area will be spared...but they say it is not looking good due to the way the weather is forming...Churches are opening for people to go for shelter....We had a very bad one hit us a few years ago and several deaths...lots of destruction...so just asking for prayers for the areas that the weather is heading toward...
Thanks, Sandi
Sandi your journal is so thoughtful and caring . I am praying that you are safe!! hugs my friend. Wendy
I am praying for your safety. Love, Linda
Sandi hope that you all are ok. We were in one of the tornado in Missouri yesterday on our way home. Stopped at a resturant and 15 minutes later they told us all to get into the freezer. We are OK, but we lost our pickup truck & travel trailer in the storm. Thought I had lost my dog because he was in the truck, but 4 hours later some her\\ard him in the truck & 12 people help us get him out of the truck. My daughter and I have pictures posted on facebook. So very glad we were nnot in the truck it was smashed flat. I am really surprised my dog was alive after I heard he was in there.
Sorry I meant to say some one heard him in the truck.
Love to you my friend
Beautiful and thought provoking writings. The analogies are so poignant with shared meanings and thoughts for a new day of sunshine from the storm and comfort from the pain. Thank you for sharing and stay safe! Love Suzzanne
