The rules for asking favors and identify what constitutes a crisis.

Ok guys, journaling is a form of venting so here goes...  I do not know when we as a society forgot what constitutes a crisis and what does not.  Here goes the rules.  Phone calls after 11pm should only be made between lovers and if someone has died.  A 2am phone call to check on a recipe is NOT a crisis!!!  If you are contemplating taking your life, this is a crisis, call or knock on my door or phone at any time at all.  You will be answered.  You need a cigarette at 3am and after getting me out of bed to answer my door, do not be surprised when I slam the door in your face and mutter, the bitch is nuts!!!  The rules for asking a favor:  When you ask a favor you are asking someone to do something for you.  I find that if you gear yourself to hear a no then you do not get your feelings hurt.  The person your asking the favor of has every right to say no, no explanation is owed you for the no.  Recently a woman asked me what time I leave for work in the morning, I knew better than to tell her without asking why she wanted to know.  She said she NEEDED me to take her to the food bank so that she could beg for bread.  At 6:15 AM that is right AM in da morning!!!!  This sounds very sad and tragic huh?  I have been to this womans house many times.  She has two refridgerators and a freezer and could live out of her pantry for three months except for milk and fresh produce.  When I said no, 6:15 being way to early for me she got angry at me.  She never considered the fact that it takes two hours of excersize before I can easily move so it was a 4:15 favor.  She said that she planned on giving me a whole loaf of bread!!!!  Now I don't know if any of you are aware of gas prices but betwwen the gas and the time I would of ended up paying way more than the price of a loaf of out of date bread for this trip!!!  Recently a coworker asked if he could borrow just 10 bucks until payday.  I said no!  What a meanie huh?  On two seperate occasions he has borrowed four bucks and has never even tried to pay me back.  Guess he was counting on my short term memory problems to benefit him.  I can't make a note of what he borrowed and when he said he was going to pay me back?  He earns four dollars an hour more than I!!!!  My neighbor came over and seemed miffed that I asked what she needed.  She asked me why I had asked something so crude.  I answered that the only time I see her is when she needs something.  She wanted to borrow five or ten bucks on a Monday and would gladly pay me twenty bucks of Wednesday.  Sounds like Wimpy from Popeye fame huh?  Guess what, I said no as I had to wait six months for a five dollar loan to was only supposed to be overnight and I had to ask for it six times!  O.K. I am done ranting now.  Here is a golden rule that all can benefit from ready cuz you wont believe this one:  If you want to make a friend ask a favor, if you want to make an enemy do a favor.  Yup, this is correct as it has been studied.  Ask a favor and the person will become a friend.  Do a favor and the person will aviod you as they feel guilty for asking you.  So loan money to people that you want to get rid of and borrow money from people that you want as your friends.  Strange huh?  E
