The Rose that Grew From Concrete

Today was ok.. I had to go on base to bring my daughter to an appointment and of course it was a trigger for me.. Seeing all the servicemembers and thier families made me feel resentment towards the BD.  I wish things could be good and that there was no OW.. Military families are supposed to be so much better off than mine is.. We are REALLY struggling to get by.. I had a pretty busy day so other than that trigger, I was pretty distracted.  I went to school.. It was good to see my friends and have my mind distracted after having a week off for Thanksgiving.  I want so badly to do good in school, but due to the past few months of stress and depression, my grades have been slipping.  I'm really disappointed in myself for allowing that douche-bag to get to me so bad that I lost sight of my goals.. I need to FOCUS!  I read a poem that is inspiring to me because of the background I come from and the things I have endoured, not only in my marriage but throughout my childhood as well..
The Rose that Grew From Concrete
Did you hear about the rose that grewfrom a crack in the concrete?Proving nature's law is wrong itlearned to walk with out having feet.Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,it learned to breathe fresh air.Long live the rose that grew from concretewhen no one else ever cared.
I want to, I HAVE to be different than my family... I HAVE to rise above all the obstacles in my way... I HAVE to get through this trial without letting it all fall apart.. I HAVE to be strong enough to let this pain go and GROW!!!
