The river
Time is like am irrefutable river; it can be channelled, changed and diverted if there is a strong enough force. Also it can be measured and plotted, finally it has a start and a finish though no one is quite sure where they are, the groundwater is indistinguishable from the ground itself and the estuary meets the sea where all of the water gets so mixed up that the too are indistinguishable. So as I said, time is like a river. We can’t tell where it came from or where it is going, we’re just hanging on and enjoying the ride, or not as the case may be. So from that short introduction I would like to continue on to how humans affect time, much in the same way as a river. We try to dam it and block it’s flow with promises and pleas, but the river cuts through these meaningless objects, proving that nothing lasts forever, nothing is perfect, and nothing is durable. Also like a river we try to make bridges. The bridge is a choice, there are a myriad of them, some choices we don’t even know we are making but it is a choice made all the same, it doesn’t matter if you like it or not. Each bridge, by nature, allows another myriad of other bridges to be built from it’s stem, likewise each choice brings forth a myriad of other choices which are made from that stem. Finally each bridge has the torrent of time flowing beneath it, and, in the same way as a river, it cannot be crossed in the same way twice because the time, and the water, changes beneath this bridge... As you were
