THE REUNION
My father and I never really had a close relationship. His emotional and physical abuse created a gulf between us. Not that it was his fault, he had several emotional and mental issues. But despite these differences I knew deep down in his heart that he loved us all sincerely and deeply. He denied God all of my life. I didn't even know he was Lutheran until he became ill and my Pastor began ministering to him. I was so happy when my Pastor told me of his salvation.
Lately he has been on my mind a lot. I keep thinking of him in the presence of our Lord and of our reunion when I am finally there too. I keep thinking of how I will finally know the love not only of my Father in heaven, in His presence, but the true love of my father.
