The retreat!

Hello Sisters - well I'm back in my routine @ work. I came back with a sore throat and ears hurting so I've been taking my Vitamin C and trying to go to bed early. The kids at school have been sick with various "bugs" since the 1st day of school. Maybe it finally caught up to me.

It was so surreal meeting all of you who attended the retreat. Part of me could not believe I was standing face to face with moms who have been my life line on this journey and the other part of me wanted to scream, dance and yell because I was so excited - but I couldn't do that because what kind of impression would I have made? LOL

I had been to Seattle before and love this city, even though I don't remember the hills! If I could have done anything over again, I would have come in Thursday to enjoy Friday with all of you. The time on Saturday was meaningful and the memorial for our kids was just perfect. Looking at the devastation and the new growth was overwhelming as it is really is dscriptive of our journey. To be able to laugh, and have fun in the midst of our heartache and longing for our kids is priceless. Nothing can compare to being with moms who "get it" and have shared their hearts on DS with me. I am truly grateful.

Sunday being on the water and having lunch with Donna, Joan, Joannie, and Teri was so much fun and we really had heart to heart conversations that I will ponder for days to come. To be face to face with moms who I have known only virtually, is so hard to describe what it means to me.

I was apprehensive with 4 to a room but Penny, Karen & Donna were great roomies and not one of us was a "diva" so it was just perfect. What a great week-end!!

I will be thinking about the retreat often and so look forward to seeing everyone again.

Hugs to you all and much love!! Vicki, always Jennifer's mom

Bummer about that sore throat but it does go often with the territory of the start up of the school year, doesn't it? Oy! Take care and early to bed for you.

I'm so delighted to have met you, Vicki, and you are spot on about BEing with those who "get it." There is just nothing quite like it that I've ever experienced.

I'm pondering too and the one thing that I do know is that it goes by way too fast! I'm home and thinking that just a week ago today I was leaving on the red eye to Seattle. Crazy!

Heartfelt thanks again to those who made it happen! YOU are the BEST!

Loving care to all our sisters of the heart and I'm really thinking about those affected by Harvey. Prayers your way and in abundance! We are with you and doing all that we can as there are many ways to contribute and every little bit helps and is needed.

XO Joanie

FMO has been my life line for almost 8 years. I need to be reminded that I am not alone, that I am not crazy (well maybe a bit), and I have a life to live as Lisa would want.
I am so glad to have met you and that you had a good time.
Hoping the Vitamin C etc work!

Hi Vicki, so happy that the retreat was such a wonderful experience for you. I have been to two and the fellowship, workshops, discussions etc were invaluable. Such a beautiful, at times sad but healing experience!

Thank you for remembering Eddie for me. I had such peace knowing he was honored and remembered and in the midst of such love from my dear SOTHS. His angel date is Monday 9/4 so the timing was perfect. Any time Eddie is spoken of makes me smile.

I hope you feel better. May you respond well to the Vitamin C and rest.

Much love to you and dearest Jennifer. Linda ♡

Hi Vicki, I'm so sorry about your ears & sore throat, hopefully you will recover soon. It was great to finally meet you in person! You added a lot to the insights we shared, especially at lunch on Sunday. You, Penny & Karen were all excellent roomies & it's true, we never had any problems with 4 women sharing 1 small space. Hope you took away what I did from the Retreat: friendship & camaraderie, encouragement & understanding & hope for our futures. Peace to you, dear SOTH & I hope to see you again next year! Love & Hugs to Jennifer & you from Charlie & me, Donna

I was great getting to know you. We are walking the walk hand in hand. I do hope you feel better soon, nothing worse than getting sick,
