We found out Friday that yet again, my dear sailor man didn't make rank. He called me first thing in the morning to tell me and he said he was depressed all day. I try to remain positive about the next one but after that, there may only be one more. And in the midst of all this I sometimes forget how hard it must be for him to keep taking that damn test over and over only to not make rank. I know he tries and he tries hard and I try hard to encourage him but it's hard when he comes home feeling so negative. And on top of that they are telling him to drop some of his college classes to study harder for the advancement exam. Ummm...he only takes one class every 8 weeks and they are the ones always on him about getting his degree. Not to mention that if he has to separate from the Navy next year, he will most certainly need that degree. It's frustrating at best but all I can do is remind him that I love him no matter what and he doesn't need some silly rank to be my #1...(of course, he does need it for money and health care but that's sort of not the point right now :)

Keep looking up. I failed my driving test 3 times before I finally passed. And my driving record is just fine. I am so glad I did not give up. Does he have test anxiety?
Trust that God has a plan for you and your man-see my status :-)
HELLO CHELSEY, I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR HUSBAND, LOOK FEELING SORRY FOR HIMSELF IS NOT GOING TO HELP, HE NEEDS TO SEE WHATS MORE HE CAN DO, AT TIMES WE HAVE TO CHANGE DIRECTION AND TRY SOMETHING ELSE, WISH HIM THE BEST.. ITS JUST SO WONDERFUL THAT YOU LOVE EACH OTHER, HUGS LUCY..
Tell him hang in there. Everything happens for a reason. When one door \"seems closed\" another one appears. One of my favorite sayings is, \"Ain\'t no thing but a chicken wing,\" because in the big picture Every day above ground is a good day.
Hi, tell your husband that the reason he did not make rank is obvious. My stepson has been a Lt. Cdr. for several yearns when in normal times he would be at least one, possibly 2 grades ahead. BUT there are only so many vacancies for any grade and because of the bad economy noone is getting out, thus no vacancies. Hopefully, this will change. Regards, Loretta
