The Result
Mom's latest CT scan results show a cyst on her liver and hardening of the arteries going to her upper stomach, down to her lower colon. We are off to the gastrointestinal surgeon, this afternoon, to discuss the results, but Mom has to go in to see her ear/nose/throat man, first, as her left ear is draining, externally. She is in a great deal of pain and very discouraged. I don't know when I've felt more impotent.

So sorry to hear about your mom being ill. Reading your March 15th entry made me think about my mom and my aunt. My mom is helping my aunt get through cancer of the throat and she is looking at the prospect of nursing care (or at least not living independently) for the rest of her life (she\'s 69).
My mom has also had to deal day in and out with the doctors and the buaraucracy of the health care system. It\'s enough to make you want to run away! I do feel for you, as a care-giver and a loving daughter.
