The quilt
I know you all want to know how the quilt is faring. I got most of it done this evening, because despite the discomfort of moving around, I just COULD NOT lie down any more. I hate to even utter this out loud, but (okay, I'm whispering): HGTV gets boring after 8 hours. When I finish this and mail it out tomorrow, I'll post a picture of it here. It's a wall-hanging with pictures of all the family members on a family tree. I can print onto fabric, so I did that with their faces and then made covered buttons out of them. So they're like apples. Or something less evil maybe. The branches hold the kids and grandkids, and the brand new grandkid-in-law. The grandparents are in the middle of the trunk in a heart, in a picture from their wedding 60 years ago. At the bottom in the roots are the great-grandparents. I want a family like this. I want to be a mother before I get too old to ever meet my grandkids and their children. I want someone to make me a big tree with all my descendants, for me to look at when I go to an assisted living facility. The wall-hanging also has pictures of the family house, front yard and backyard, with backyard view of Pike's Peak! Their backyard and my infertility have some things in common. A very, very lofty goal that requires a whole lot of work to overcome. At least the quilt was pretty easy. I'm going to finally take my bruised and battered lower abdomen to bed. Good night, everybody.
