It is to be useful to be honorable to be compassionate, to have it make some difference, that you have lived and lived well." (usefully).

ds works better at this time of the night than during the day. what a difference. had a very difficult day. one of those, would have been best to stay home days. fell asleep at 8 or 9 p.m. last night, which is extremely early for me and slept through until 8 in the morning. lol. guess i needed it.
had an upset with one of the dogs, she tangled herself into the fringe of a wool blanket and her collar and was howling like crazy. i was like wth? i loosened her collar no problem but i had to get a scissor to release her from the rest of it. very sad. she was freaking out, don't blame her. still can't figure out how she did it. they like to go under the blankets and then roll up inside of them. good thing i was home. i put the blanket away and hopefully it won't happen again. who knows. this one dog seems to get into things more than other dogs. very strange. they do things like jump on tables and chairs on a regular basis. very odd. so for several hours after that was staying real close to me (more than usual) because she was still scared i guess. you always hear about freak accidents with animals and its usually because of their collars or leashes getting caught somehow. i was against collars for animals, but with this dog, i need the bell on it to locate her because she started this wandering thing a couple of weeks ago. grrrrr.
tried to reach one of the guys from work to see if he could come in early as he always wants extra hours, because i wanted to go to a dinner and lecture, that i've been blowing off for 8 years. for real. tonight they had fine dining and i enjoy that and it was a perfect day for it since there was so much traffic and garbage going on - nice to unwind to a higher end meal. couldn't reach him and then he said it was his phone and he was sitting around doing nothing all night. no idea if that is true or not. i can never tell with people. either way, i didn't get to go to the dinner. so just add it to the list of today.
did get some banking done and collected the mail and all that. fed the animals. gave two of them meds, one has a new cold and the other an ongoing, never ending cold/allergy? i'm looking for liquid lysine for it now and only found a paste so far. the animal with the messed up eye, seems to have healed well (he hated the eye med, but it works really well).
