The Positives of my Life

Dear friends,Today, I want to thank God for the positives in my life, as there are so many.  I hardly know where to begin:A home to live inA warm bed to sleep inClothes to wearFood to eatA car to driveA computer to use to talk to all of youA wonderful backyard full of natureMy healthMy zest for lifeBeing stable for the past yearDear friends, both on DS & here at homeMy ex-husband, who allows me to live here, & mostly treats me very well.My son, daughter-in-law & beautiful 5 mo old granddaughterMy extended family, who all live in the good old USAMy country of residence - Canada, where I receive disability, medical & dental coverage, & can live a life of freedom from oppression, choose my own spiritual beliefs, have the privelege of owning & reading a Bible, free speech...I could go on & on.Being able to lose weight - 25 # so farLoving others & being loved back.........there are too many to list them all, or I'd be writing for hours. But, these are just a few.  Maybe some people have these things & take them for granted, or some are in need, & struggle so much more than I.  If I could, I would share what I have with all of those in need.  But, God has given me the ability & desire to share what I can, when I can.  The Bible says, in Matthew 22:36-40, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"  Jesus replied:  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul & with all your mind.  This is the first & greatest commandment.  And, the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."  These are not things I can do in my own strength.  Only through leaning on God, trusting in Him & being obedient, can I even have this love I have for others.  The bad news is:  I'm a sinner who is not always obedient.  The good news is:  Jesus Christ died & rose again to take the punishment for the sins of all people here on earth.  So, when I sin, all I have to do is confess my sin to God, thank Him for His forgiveness & do my best, with His help, to not do it again.  It's a struggle sometimes, but it's so much better than the alternative.  I'm so thankful to have a loving Heavenly Father, who knew me even before I was born, & loves me unconditionally.  Having such a relationship helps me to be able to find peace in the midst of a storm (troubles).  If you don't know God, through accepting Jesus into your life, I would highly recommend Him.  He'll give you a purpose for your life, & is always there when you need Him.  He'll fill that hole you have in your heart, & even give you joy, as you learn to walk with Him.Well, that's my sermon for today.  If it only reaches one person, I'll be grateful to God.  I love you all very much, & am here for you, anytime, in any way.  Don't worry, I won't preach.  I'm just here to encourage, inspire & pray for God to help you.May each & every one of you find at least one thing to be grateful for this day.Hugs,Debi
