The past few days

Wow--a lot to catch up on! Well, here is a summary:Tuesday: went to the psych eval. The Dr was very nice & just spoke with me then my son. His conclusion was that DS is good to go back to school. DS could probably benefit with some support services regarding the transition from school to the "real world." The Dr was kind of surprised that the school wanted a "guaranty" of DS's behavior & seemed taken aback by their reaction to everything. (I was surprised by this, but glad to have the validation that I'm not crazy!) Anyhow, he'd left a voice mail with the guidance counselor about his conclusions. Later on, the guidance counselor told me that they wanted something in writing from him & that he'd left a voice mail for the Dr to fax something, then DS could come back to school, maybe the next morning.
Wednesday:
Took DS to work with me, awaiting the school's call, which never came during the school day. Left 2 voice mails & sent 1 email to the guidance counselor to see if they got the fax. I brought my son home at the end of the school day & a couple hours later, the counselor finally called me to say they did get the fax & my son could report to school the next day. (Needless to say, I was a wreck most of the day & started to circle the wagons!) At the end of the day, I was happy & relaxed.
AND--DCF never called like they said they would. Of course, I'm not calling them; they have my #! So I'll lay low & hope for the best (being: 45 days will pass & the case will close). Of course, that most likely won't happen, but one can hope.
Unrelated story: So I go to bed, tired out & ready for the best night sleep I've had in days, and at about 3 in the morning, I heard my iPhone beep--we lost power due to high winds, which continued howling for 2 hours! (For some reason, I can't sleep when it's windy.) It was so windy, the house shook! Fortunately since I had my iPhone right there, I set the alarm on it. So eventually I did get some sleep, but today I'm very very tired.
Today, the sun is shining & it's still a little windy. I finally got a walk in for the first time in weeks. There have been no phone calls from the school or anyone today. So I'll take this feeling just for today!
