The Night Before
Anxious doesn't begin to describe it.
I had difficulty finding something to sit on comfortably. Hemorrhoid pillows wouldn't do - the ones I found were made of vinyl and rubber with a rather small hole that certainly wouldn't allow ease of sitting with so many stitches. I tried neck pillows but they were so soft I sank right down, no support. So... I bought a boppee :)
Pretty sure that was a first for the employees at Babies-R-Us. I asked if I could take the boppee out of the case to sit on it. After confused expressions I explained that I was having surgery and needed something supportive to sit on. I loved it! Adjustable arms that I can position where I want and absolutely no pressure in the soon-to-be suture laden areas. Crossing my fingers it is just as comfortable post surgery
Nesting has helped, plus staying busy with my grandsons. Being prepared definitely has calmed some of my anxiety. Not to mention how much fun we've had playing with the homemade ice packs! I can't claim we were very mature about it Plenty of comments about the slushy filled gloves holding down the fort on my swollen vagina. Yikes.
