The New F-word
WA-A-A-AY back before the Anglos hyphenated with the immigrant Saxons, "fuck" was the immigrant word for "pound." I can imagine an immigrant Saxon saying, "Shut your pie hole, Anglo peasant, or I will pound you."
When I was learning English in the 60s, the F-word was a euphemism for the Saxon word for pound. The word no longer needs a euphemism. It is in competition with Old Kinderhook (OK) for top inter-linguistic usage. I use movies allot in my language studies. All the contemporary movie producers seem to love both words. Whatever the language, I hear, "Blah blah, fucking blah blah! Okay?" Even my finicky auto-correct and the DS censor utility will let me have all conjugations of the Saxon word for pound. Atypical words - such as conjugate - are typically "auto-corrected" for me and arguing with my auto-correct is often more work than it is worth. Just one of the many reasons this early touchpad model was discontinued.
In my daily usage of the English language, "faith" is the new f-word. It is not safe to use it in public. My atheist branch of the family branch begins anti-church tirades at the very use of the new f-word. The church going branches will launch tirades if they know I go to the wrong building to pray. The other branches - such as mine - are simply tired of getting caught in the cross fire.
Yup, the use of the Saxon word for pound is now approved for popular usage. In the Arf Dictionary, "Faith" is the new f-word. Light age enlightenment...

I sort of have a loose belief in the Christian faith sometimes combined with sort of a Hindu stance mixed in with a little bit of 8 Fold Path.
And of course, you know, that contradicts the humanist side of the family........mine are agnostic.
