The news
I waited three weeks for the results of the testing. I got the answer today in the form of a yes. I have hepatitis c. Truth be known I've probably had it since the early 80's when I was married to my ex-husband who had it. I'm surprised that I hadn't found out sooner, but I guess you don't get tested for it unless there is a reason. I've never had any symptoms, so I thought I was safe and didn't contract it from him. I was wrong.
So now what? My doctor said he'd refer me to a specialist. Didn't know they had one. What are they called? What should I expect?
I feel like a leper. My husband of 25 years told me he thought I shouldn't tell anyone.
Just how many of those shots do you get, and how often? Is this something I will have to go to the doctor's office on a regular basis to receive, or is it something they teach me to do myself?
Thanks for being out there in cyberville. I feel very alone.

I\'m still waiting to see if I will be able to have any sort of treatment. There is a lady from the indigent program here in the Big Bend area of Texas trying to find someone who will take me. Meanwhile I am working on getting a lot of things done here in our Winnebago. I\'ve been painting, next I\'ll be sewing curtains. If I do get to have the treatments I need (and I\'m not feeling so hot, I\'m thinking it will make me happy to see my surroundings as nice as they can be and admire all my hard work. I\'m trying very hard to let go and let God on this whole subject. Surely I didn\'t find out after years (decades) of having hep c, that now I won\'t be able to treat it. I\'m trying not to let it consume me. I am doing things I love to do. I\'m riding my motorcycle, painting and doing things that make me happy. Hopefully she will call me and tell me there is someone out there willing to treat me.
best of luck to you
