the myth of sisyphus
Roll a boulder up a hill, think you accomplished something, the boulder rolls down another hill, roll it back up, then it goes down still another hill---for eternity.
Or, maybe some black comedy: Dr Strangelove, The Fortune Cookie, Little Murders?
My broken record, of downstairs lowlife couple abandoning their cat, probably from wasting money, with me trying to figure out how to save it from an early death.
Today, 6 hours ago, a guy who lived across the street from me got on the local bus in next town, with him mentioning he was thinking of getting a 2nd cat or dog, to keep his current cat company. He also told me, on the bus, that he couldn't afford to pay the one hundred dollars my vet wanted--in advance--for examining a cat that died on him a couple years ago! Somehow, without a car, he was able to go about ten miles away for a cheap vet. All I could say to him, for the few minutes on the bus, was that cats pass diseases to one another----I wish I had told him, bluntly, that he couldn't afford a second pet. When he did live across the street from me, around 2007, he went to atlantic city, hoping to win money for his back rent----by playing roulette. He, and the cat he had back then, wound up renting a bedroom in a stranger's house, in the next town. Before he moved, I would buy him a dollar bag of catlitter---cause he was using shredded up newspaper for catlitter. And, later, his name was in the local paper for credit card fraud. Plus, he now has piano teeth.
Just mind boggling how my elderly cat put to sleep, lowlife neighbor's cat becomes homeless, then I talk to this guy for first time in a long time---all in less than 3 weeks.
Hahahaha....down and out laughing at end of "Treasure of Sierre Madre."

I can see how stunning these events can be to your mind... I shake my head at the thought...
There were times I struggled to take care of my cats but, I tell you, the first thing I did when I was paid was to get cat little and cat food... I could go to the food pantries... I could provide for myself... They were my first priority... Yes, I went through hard times, but they always knew they were so very well loved and never went hungry... Never... I invited them into my home, they didn\'t knock on my door... I have a wonderful vet who will allow me to pay off his bills if need be, but I do not need to do so often... So many people have both good intentions and selfish intentions... It is the ones with the selfish intentions of which I am the most concerned...
and now convicted child molester from upstairs homeless bunch let the cat I\'ve been trying to trap----out of the trap!!!
convicted molester without an apt---but he thinks he already has the empty apt, AND he to adopt the cat I\'ve been trying to rescue.
