"The more risks you allow children to take - the better they learn to take care of themselves."

Probably true, but so hard to do.  One of the schools our kids went to had all that training for the Navy but on sand kind of thing.  Sending kids to overnight camps should also instill some of that if they are away for a few weeks.

They claim "slacker parents" end up with excellent kids for the same reason, there is no one to do anything "for" the kid because their parents won't or don't, the kid has to learn to do EVERYTHING themself - the more they are on their own the better.  like team sports and scouting etc.  also kids who's parents don't speak english, and the kid has to read to the parent and fill out forms and applications for the parent.  those kids generally end up brilliant.

not doing much right now.  my back and neck is killing me for some reason - maybe its going to rain.  it was 85 degrees today.  wish the lawn guy would show up.  made an appointment for the male small dog at rn's to be fixed - it looks like a dachshund mix.  rn says that the small female chihuahua (super small like 5 pounds at the most) is in heat.  she is under the age of one, she'll need to go in as well soon.  the male is three.  rn likes him so much that if the owner doesn't pick up she would want him.  it would be that dog's third home.  she says he is perfect though, well-trained and gets along well - extremely gentle.

Started reading Mike Huckabee's 12 stories for christmas today.  he isn't just a politician, he's a published author. He had a strange childhood.  He says its amazing he is in politics and people vote for him because his ancestry is full of criminals and if the press bothered to look they could really have made a mess of his chances using that if they wanted to.  lol.   I think the press only uses current stuff, like one's own life for that, not everything from 1790 onward.  he says when brits came over here from england if they were from prisons, they were dropped off in georgia and that is where his ancestors are from.  he says, then like any fugitive they all ran for different states hoping never to be found (but he's pretty sure all huckabee's no matter how they spell the last name are related, but its safer to say you don't know them in case they owe money somewhere).  lol.  he's funny.

the lawyer says the stuff from my jaw is also from the accident.  she also knew about numb spots.  wow!  she said that the reason you go to a lawyer as soon as the accident happens (if you can) is the lawyers that specialize in personal injury/liability  will have doctors that specialize in accidents and know things that ordinary doctors don't know.  she says it doesn't cost anything.  they don't explain that very well when you are injured, they just tell you to file a claim, even both insurance companies urged that - everyone knows more about this stuff than me.  also you are in sooooo much pain when you are first injured that all you want to do is curl up and sleep and heal.  you can't think clearly.  your body is also in shock and your brain isn't functioning the way it should.  and the last person you want to decide on is which lawyer or which doctor etc.  i was impressed that she knew injuries so well though.  my doctors had no clue at all when i told them, so i guess she is right about it being a specialty.

the guy doing the roof on the street behind us pulled the roof off because its asbestos and that is dangerous.  it has to be put into sealed drums as toxic waste.  at c's house, the hope is the guy she rents from had a 15 year mortgage and by now, ten years later, enough of it is paid off, that its safe for him to sell it at a loss and still see a small profit.  he would be 2/3 of the way through on the mortgage if he is on a 15, hope that is what he used when he bought it.  he told c he was just tired of waiting.  he has been trying to sell it even just breaking even -- for the price he paid for it, for four years and it isn't happening.  he bought way too high and the taxes are high on it because its on the intracoastal and has a dock and all that.

so many people lost everything they had from buying high ten years ago or their 401k's going down to nothing and company's going bankrupt.

it can still be free. there is an antennae that they sell at the hardware store for $72 and it gives you over 20 channels permanently, no other cost. there is also a \"rabbit\" that you can plug into your computer and get free tv from it. i haven\'t tried that one yet.

talked to a about the dogs and other mobiles. now the man is saying the mobile will be ready JANUARY 1. wth? his wife and son are still in south florida by his stepdaughter. what a disaster. i have seen this a zillion times with HOUSES by developers and investors claiming they will be done, now it turns out the mobile ones are just as bad? he definitely needs a weekly or monthly or something until its ready. he should be nervous. a hotel will kill you financially.
