The Men of the House

Plural intended. I married into a literal Man Clan. My grand daughter (1) was the first woman born into hubby's family since 1912. Even the 1912 birth was a fluke. The girl had 4 brothers and no sisters. The women who married in to the family are not emotionally bonded to any functional degree. Strictly in-law.

At present two of those men want me to feel at home in the house they share. I was literally born on the road, for the road. The road is the only place I feel natural. "Home" remains an obscure concept to me. "Ownership," even more so. Even the meanest of Grizzly Bears have to share their territory with other critters. Yes, my name is on the deed to the house those two men are sharing. That deed is *just* paper in my strictly personal senses and that *just* paper belongs in the courthouse. They'll let me have a copy if I want it. Lucky me. The building, itself, is as high maintenance as any other building in the boom, especially with two men living there. Their housekeeping habits are worthy of a stereotype.

The 2 Men of the House plan? I am not impressed and I am damn sure tired of being the communication hub for 2 men with daddy issues. Don't even believe the job should be done, by a combat trained woman, or anyone else. Open your freaking doors and talk to each other, my studly dears. Throw yourselves a G.I. Party while you discuss your sporting stats.

My comparison demon is on the loose again. Is the silence in this motel room really different from the silence of the 2 Man House I am refusing to go back to today. I booked this room for a week. Chew chew.

Footnote: Personal condition not worse.

Last night's sleep was one of the worst I have had in a goodly while without grandchildren to blame for the disrupted sleep. Is it fair to blame an ominous silence for last night's disrupted sleep? Dunno. Don't much care. I collapsed for a yummy nap almost immediately after lunch. Time for a dip in the motel pool. The pool is not big enough for laps, but I take pride in my make-do artistry.

humm, not sure, but sounds like you''ve hit the road again for greener pastures after only returning last week. Men, again humm thinking of them/those who have been in my life, and including my angel with horns, son, are a definite challenge...hope your served 'chews' will find some answers, and more importantly some silence to find your peace. Take care! ml

Sigh, people...we love them, but they can be such a challenge. The pool sounds lovely.
