the manx cat is missing//dinner at k's - saw a ghost//watched its a wonderful life and dead zone i4
the manx cat is missing couple of days now. it was crying to go outside, then i let it out, then it was crying to go in again about two nights ago. looked for it last night as it didn't show up for breakfast. grrrr. if its someone on the next street helping, i don't mind at all, but let me know. that cat does get demanding with the in and out thing. feels so weird for it not being around. then i thought i heard it again this morning, by the time i got out there i didn't see it. when i walked the side roads looking for it friday night, the guy that lives behind my neighbor was feeding the cats that c used to feed (and those cats or cats over there, were fed by helen 7 years ago before helen moved, no idea where she is now. she is a friend of alma who feeds a small colony over by the university. small world. i had allll of the animals fixed right after that when i realized they were all feeding but not fixing and the animals have to always be fixed. some were babies and are friendly and some stayed skittish. hard to tell whose is whose because everyone has indoor/outdoor cats - every house on the intracoastal does and all the animals get along and visit each other.
so slept badly worrying about it. also started another margaret haddix book, i got it at the book sale last week. its the third one of the shadow children series, i already have and read the first two. its science fiction. this one is called among the barons. i'm almost finished with it. she's an excellent writer. its set in the future, people are only allowed to have two kids, so if they have more than two by accident, they try to hide the third one or the kids will be killed. they already do that in china for real. late term abortions forced by the government if you have more than one child. and in india, people abandon female infants because of their weird laws and customs. totally sick. in albania, if an infant is born with downs syndrome or deformity/disability of any sort, they are abandoned at the hospital and that is considered routine to do that. heartless.
had dinner at k's tuesday, don't know if i even posted that yet. he planned it, so i guess he was feeling better. we had pork loin with cheese and vegetables and salad. bourban and cokes and bourban and ginger ale. coffee. they had starbucks coffee on sale, buy one get one. the vcr that i found at the garage sale was set up by the new worker and the new worker cleaned his house so it looked better and i think he's not pissed at him anymore, though he is still trying to get advances on money, even though he still owes k hours. not good. k pulled out "its a wonderful life" to watch after dinner, so we watched that, though he still hasn't seen most of it because he fell asleep during it (i do the same thing - falling asleep, but i fall asleep during action movies or cartoons, unless its a disney cartoon-movie, i still like those).
i noticed he does the same as j now, no sweets, both are pre-diabetic. i had the same thing ten years ago and i got rid of it by not eating "white" food, the same way i got rid of cholesterol in the 90's - wish the cholesterol would do that now. watched international real estate it was in italy this time. nice to see that show again, and then they had a thing on "i4 - the dead zone" - an area on i4 near sanford and the st. john's river where people's cars go down and many people see ghosts. they were interviewing a zillion people giving testimony about the weird things happening over there for decades and gave the history of the area and the building of i4. didn't expect to see that. it was on until 3 or 4 a.m.
so, in between this i'm half sleeping and half not and the lights are dim and i look up and there is a man with kind of longish bright red/auburn hair and a beard wearing navy blue work clothes like a mechanic or plumber or something would wear kind of sneering at me over by the opening to the dining room. when he saw that i saw him, he kind of smiled, i went back to sleep and opened my eyes and he was still standing there, so i say to him or whoever, are you renting the room in the back and then the guy disappeared. omg! this has happened before over there. i realized this "man" looks like stephen bray, so i figured, i'm going to download a photo of stephen bray and add a beard to it and ask k if he knows who this is? wth? then i'm thinking, did i think i saw this because of watching the show about i4 and reading those craig mcmanus books lately about the ghosts of cape may. too strange. like he was standing there and then turned when he saw i was sleeping on the couch and didn't like that i was there on the couch. wth? but he stayed standing there.
