The Madness
Ok, my life has just reached a new level of ridiculousness. Just when I thought I had a handle on things, and that there was just no possible way of something else coming down the pike...I get hit with yet ANOTHER issue.
Last night I went to pick up a friend of mine and his girlfriend. She was being released from the hospital after having had surgery the day before. She needed to pick up a check and get it cashed, which apparently Social Services signed wrong (or she did one I don't know, none of my business) and no place wanted to cash it for her. So we get to a place where they can decide what they want to do, only to find out I have a flat tire in practically the middle of no where. Something starts happening with her, and she has to go back to the hospital via ambulance. So that gets taken care of, and I try to change my tire to my spare, only to find that I have no lug wrench to take the lug nuts off my wheel! GRIEF! So...I call my husband to the rescue, and he borrows his dad's truck. When my husband gets there, he proceeds to inform me that CPS has contacted my father in law, wanting permission to sign my kids over to them because of "all my daughter has been through." WHAT???!!! All I can think is, what has my daughter said to those folks at the mental ward? Simply because it seems she was sorta singled out.
I am confused, worried, pissed, I'm a complete wreck right now. I don't know what is going on, I don't know if it was something my daughter said or if it was something misconstrued by the staff at the hospital. I"m pretty sure this time around it had nothing to do with my mother in law, as that has been the reason for having to deal with them at all before.
I swear to God, where the hell is he? All this much junk at one time is enough to make one question their sanity AND their faith. I'm trying so hard to hang onto both right now it is pathetic.
IF my daughter has said something to these people in a deliberate type of way, I don't know that I will ever be able to forgive her. I will love her no matter what, but I don't know that I will be able to get over it. I'm hoping that it is just an issue of miscommunication between her and her therapists/social worker. If not, I just don't know how to heal from that kind of thing, especially since she knows my horrible childhood and the things I had to deal with. I swear to God if she has accused either of us of anything close to what I had to go through......I just don't know....it's too much and almost too hard to think she would maliciously do something like that, but then again she was also told during her stay at the mental ward that when she returned she had to break her "relationship" off with her 18 year old guy friend in Florida, she lied to us for a year, building this guy up to be something he wasn't. Even to the point that we were trying to figure out how we could finagle a way for them to get to go to the movies together. Puzzled us why he was always "busy" or had to help his mom or some other excuse, but it didn't dawn on us to question our daughter, we thought we could trust her.
I swear I feel like I just want to beat my head against something.

Whew! What a mess! \"All my daughter has been through\" is that even a valid reason to take someone\'s children away? What the hell? Not to mention that noone\'s adolescence in general is perfect, you\'re just going through too many transitions in life and hormones for it to be. It\'s not like a foster family would make things \"all better\". I\'m surprised the hospital even gave it any weight considering that with a lot of mental illness people can get very vindictive. What a mess! Hang in there!
Oh My God. You should write a novel. Seriously. Only you and your daughter know what the truth is regarding what ever in the hell she said. You are a good mom and if she, (I hope she doesn\'t) ends up in foster care, she will see how bad things can get. The boyfriend needs to be cut off. I am so sorry about all of your crap and in law crap. Thanks for keeping us posted. With Love and Support, Colleen
Much love to you Colleenie, as supportive as my husband is, I think I would go nutz for real if it were not for you and others here on DS to help me keep looking for that light at the end of the tunnel. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
