The Light Is Back

Today is Saturday. I have been stuck at home for a week and was afraid I would be stranded with a waterlogged house and no running water for several more days. But as luck would have it... me and my big mouth that will speak to any and everyone til I can find someone to listen did serve me well.

I have been very fortunate to have a warm, caring insurance woman who left no stone unturned until she could find some help. They have a company that comes out to examine damage to properties then does what is needed to sterilize and repair. I told her I had contacted 2 separate plumbers but when I explained the situation they were very sympathetic but could not come in for another week.  Kay (insurance woman) would see if she could secure lodging for me at a nearby hotel if it was deemed uninhabitable... but soon found that noone would take me. (not even isolated and away from everyone to be resterilized after I left. ) She made it a point to find a plumber who is clearly not the norm. He is not afraid of covid nor did he deem me a leper simply because I crossed the path of another just as unlucky as me.

I still do have bouts with the coughing and rattling, but nothing too severe. I consider myself lucky and wanted others to know it is not nearly as severe for many. I will warn though that the coworker who continued to work for 4 days had NO FEVER. NOR DID I.  I have had a fever twice during the weeknow, but initially did not. When I was tested, the woman who did it explained that many who are getting it now are NOT showing fever as a symptoms. So if there are any abnormal issues coming up, I would say maybe call and inquire if they think you should just go to be checked.

Being so overwhelmed and alone initially and fearing and expecting the worst, I am relieved and again reassured that things will be ok . I am never truly alone. That light is back and the end of the tunnel is  near. (And my late husband is NOT right... IT IS NOT A TRAIN! LOL)

Thank you all.

PS You do realize what this means? I will soon be back with my endless posts and chatter... should you need the duct tape. haha

Your homeowners insurance will pay to have the damage from that leak, repaired. I am assuming that was the insurance lady you spoke of?

Anyway, good for you for speaking up! There are all kinds of people willing to help but you can't be afraid to ask and it sounds like you have overcome the fear of asking! Congratulations!

God Bless

The plumber was well aware, but not concerned. Yes very handsome , younger and shares the same mindset on MANY things When they were through he and I got on our proverbial soapboxes. (His poor apprentice was clearly looking for that duct tape... for the both of us. LOL Surely someone has snatched him up... or he is still not sure if he found the right one yet. )

Glad you are better and your plumbing was fixed. I was sick with Covid too. They say most people get it mild to moderate. I was out of work, but home on disability with mine. I am all better now. Hope you continue to feel well.

I want to add if you still have some symptoms, my doc said take 50 mg of zinc, Vitamins D and C and a good probiotic if you can.
