The Lesson
I have come to believe that we are all on this planet to learn specific lessons. There are no coincidences. Our parents, siblings, life events, friends, jobs - everything - has been chosen for us to provide opportunities to learn the lessons we took physical form to learn. When our learning on earth is complete, we leave our physical body and enter the realm of the spirit.
Max and I are inextricably linked and he, more than anyone else, has taught me the most about myself. Much of my learning has come in the two years since his death. He made the ultimate sacrafice, leaving his physical form, in part so I could become all that I was meant to be in my lifetime.
One of my big life lessons is that the past cannot prevent me from being present NOW. And I am working hard to regain my life among the living and honor the small things of the present moment. To be one with what life wants. I realize that my entire life journey consists of the step I take at this very moment. What the future holds for me depends on my state of consciousness now. This is a significant realization for a person who previously worried about the past and future all the time to the extent that I had no consideration for the present moment. As a result, I had little appreciation for anything I did or that happened to me.
Max has helped me learn that "success" is a successful present moment. That what the future holds for me depends on my state of consciousness now. That allowing myself to become comfortable with uncertainty will result in infinite possibilities opening up in my life. I am still an ordinary human. But what is extraordinary is what comes through me into this world. Life itself is not good or bad. Life is life, and you win some and you lose some.
I know I will see Max when my learning on earth is completed and I join him in the spirit world. And in the meantime, I don't mind what happens. "What happens" is this moment which always already is as it is. And I have learned to let it be and simply enjoy it!

What an insightful and inspiring entry. One of my favorite authors, Tolle speaks of the Power of Now as that is all that we have and will ever need. You sound as if you are growing and evolving into a peaceful place which is serving you well. Thank you for the constant reminder to savor this moment. Max is teaching you well and you are a student who is ready. Love to you and gratitude for your wise words today. Joanie
Lots to ponder here-thank you so much for sharing your thoughts

Joanie, I am a big Tolle fan and he has opened my eyes in so many ways!
I totally agree and I know in my heart that my son was here for the 19 years he needed to be and that was his journey
You couldn\'t of written it better! I agree with you. Living here in the now, I have experienced the same thoughts..Keeping focused, in the here and the now, is so much better. I have happier moments in the day..One day at a time!! If I think of the past and worry about the future, I get in the worst frame of mind, I can\'t live life happy.... love & hugs, Kelly
Wonderful journal! It is really making me think. Thanks so much for sharing it. We have missed you. Love, Julia
