the last week....

has been rough.  killer headaches.  bp so high I think my eyes are going to pop out, then I take some meds and it gets so low I'm too dizzy to walk. my family's big gathering of the year is on new year's day.  maybe I mentioned it before.  my gramma always used to make a special dish called Brijole just on New Year's.  Basically meat rolls cooked in spaghetti sauce.  Then after she passed on my Uncle used to always make it.  This year he decided he's too old to bother with it.  So my wife and I volunteered to give it a try and bring some.  No, then there would be too much food.  My Uncle served two big casserole dishes of sliced ham and brown sugar.  Great!  I shouldn't eat ham because of the sodium and preservatives in it. Today we made Brijole anyway, just for our kids and grandkids.  It's not really too hard after all, and it was delicious!  When I want to cook something I search the internet for recipes and read 5 or 10 of them to get the gist of it.  Then I'm good to go. I wish I could offer you all some, served on top of spaghetti. yum!!!  I guess since you're not here I have to eat the leftovers without help!

I take a boatload of meds for BP, 4 or 5 different ones that are for BP directly (like atenolol and hytrin) and another 4 or 5 that are supposed to help my circulation in the long run, like simvistatin. It\'s crazy, but it all seems to be necessary to keep it low most of the time. But even with all that it gets out of whack frequently. I know my only salvation is going to be some serious weight loss and a real fitness routine.
