the last few weeks

I haven't been here much over the last few weeks......Life just likes to knock you upside the head when things are going well.
My daughter had a seizure on aug 12. She had been having these small twitches every now and then that the doctors thought was just stress and anxiety. She had seen a neurologist a few weeks before, bit the tests had not been reviewed yet. Thankfully she was with her boyfriend and he called 911.....she is okay. Apparently all those twitches have been small seizures! So now she is being referred to another specialist. She called me today with the appointment date....DEC. 2013! for goodness sake, this is completely ridiculous.....she is going to call her neuro and see what he can do!
During all this we got a call from hubby's brother......my sister in law has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She also has several spots on her liver. She has been in and out of hospital for several weeks now and I think finally has a good group of doctors. But they do not have a good prognosis......3 months to a year, possibly. She is only 51, a great career, 4 gown kids 2 granddaughters. We are all sort of stunned and don't really know what to do.
On the other hand things with the puppy are going well and I have been doing well, even with the travel. Hubby has been talking to the Sanctuary Belize group and it looks good for doing work down there. We optioned a piece of property there too.....we have a guaranteed 3 year buy back option.....in case anything happens.....CYA!
Dakota is still not impressed with Lola! She also has an ear infection. I guess thats all I can remember for now....

Well, it seems like a lot is definitely going on.. a lot of it stuff that you can\'t do anything but think about and worry (that kind of stuff drives me mad) Your SIL\'s situation sounds dire. It sounds as though she has the best medical staff available and she is surrounded by people who love her. I would just be around for them when they need you to. Spend time with her when you can if you are close and get past the awkward what do you say at a time like this stage. I am sure that you know how that stage feels having been diagnosed with your illness. Sending you prayers and positive energy for both this and your daughters seizures.

The appointment wait for your daughter is absolutely ridiculous!! It isn\'t just in Canada though. I need a sleep study and have had problems with sleep issues for years due to the fibro and the pain I wanted to wait until I wasn\'t flaring before having one (doesn\'t take a rocket scientist to figure that pain itself will keep you awake, can\'t take pain meds so hoping it would resolve itself when I am not flaring. Called in July, explained that I wake every hour and have to get up, not in pain they gave me an appointment date of Dec.12, 2012 and I will then have the pleasure of paying for it! )

Belize sounds wonderful and I love the three year buy back plan. I do hope that works out. Yep, I have to get on the coming for a visit list both at your home and Belize. (Be careful what you say here... Have passport, will travel! LOL)

Oh, puppies (and all there errant misbehavior and chewing) and our older pets not liking being reminded that they are young anymore and being reminded how ANNOYING the young can be! I Soooo understand this now. LOL I do hope Dakota accepts the new pup soon. I wish I could video some of the looks Whiskers is giving Jake. Priceless!!

Sorry to hear about your SI.I hope that she gets good care and treatment.
I don\'t know you too well, just getting to know you,but from what I do know, she is loved by a good solid family and that is always helpful and good medicine in my opinion. We have a family friend who has been given a year to live,so I know how difficult news like this is,for all involved.

Unbelievable that your daughter has wait to see a specialist!! I hope that her neuro helps move that date up asap! People gets lost in a system it seems, and insensitivity goes with it hand in hand.

Belize...how nice that will be for both of you..

Puppies can be so fun but come with their own chaos..doesn\'t last long though. Hope Lola\'s ear infection is better soon. Like the name Dakota too.

Wishing you and your family all the best brunob. Positive healing/loving energy sent for you all. Hugs

I too so very well know abt life just throwing it at you sometimes, boy oh boy huh.
Thats unbelievable with a wait date that long, come on huh. I\'d play a squeaky wheel here & stay on them & see if things can\'t be changed for the better.
When life gives me some hard knocks I always find it\'s so vital to remember that I\'ve got such strong support here at DS. Together we are one wonderful bunch & there is always strength between us.

if she can figure out what is provoking the seizures she won\'t even need medication. there is a site on internet that gets into all the seizure stuff. its excellent and very common.

i heard that twitches can be seizures or small strokes. does your daughter have head injuries as generally seizures are caused from head injury or allergy. poisons will also cause seizure and so can barometric pressure, like submarines, high mountains, dry cold or dry hot climates. xxoo
