The Kingdom - Per Micah
Micah 6:8
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
I was thinking more about people and the Kingdom of Heaven. Bottom line is this...just as it says in the Lord's Prayer "thy kingdom come, thy will be done", it is what the Kingdom of Heaven is all about...earth people acting like Heaven's occupants.
In Heaven, the entire place is about God, people transformed by God, people with attitudes like God's, actions like God's, motives like God's, etc. Whatever action, attitude, motive or word you can attribute to God, all who claim they are Christian should be doing those to the best of their ability.
Look at the verse above..."but to do justly (what is right and fair), and to love mercy (giving people what they do not deserve; kindness instead of nasty words) and to walk humbly (no arrogant attitudes, words, actions, motives...thinking more about the other person than yourself) with thy God".
Admittedly, people aren't much like that today, right? Well, that is the exact reason we who claim to be born again with Jesus as our Saviour SHOULD be doing the above so that people will see our good works and give glory to God our Father!
Now, honestly, if we do these things because we are Kingdom people, won't we automatically be "salt" and "light" in this world as we are called to be? People will not be able to deny that we are different and when asked why we are different, we can take the opportunity to point them to Jesus who makes us different.
So, my peeps, I need to go into the world and shake the "salt" and shine the "light". Time is quickly approaching for Jesus to come and I do not want to be caught goofing off. Too many die each day without Christ as their Saviour and are lost.

Funny I am trying to do this with my real biological brothers and sisters as we close out my parents estate....it sounds easier than it is in practice but it is what we are called to do, so full speed ahead with justice and humility and no presumption on my part. AMEN?

It was in many ways like they were all children again....The Oldest wanted everything because they were the oldest and had always been in charge growing up, the Baby was hurt and wanted to just leave the entire mess & \"pout\", and the Middle was playing the logical mediator.....Hugs & love, sweetie.
That is exactly how it is....how predictable are we??? But since you said that I have talked with all my brothers and sisters to smooth any ruffled feathers and now hopefully it will go more smoothly!
Best wishes. How odd we think we have settled those old wounds so long ago and \"grown up\" but deep down, we are always our parent\'s children striving for their approval even after they are gone.
I am just amazed at how predictable we all are.....even acknowledging we want to do better to honor our parents we still fall into the same old traps. I spent 7 hours with one brother who as you say still wants there approval even after they are gone. May God Blss him and help him to mov forward and leave those hurts behind.
AMEN. About drove myself nuts in my 20\'s trying to earn my mom\'s approval. Finally, I realized I never would hear her brag on me or say I did good, etc. That was always my dad\'s thing and he died when I was 15. When I realized that, I was finally free from the madness of trying to earn approval.
Hey maybe we should take this show on the road...like Regis and Kelly only Christian!
