The Kindness of Strangers

I'd been doing those time consuming shopping things - you know, getting a script filled (half an hour wait), buying another christmas gift( a great set of water pstols for my nephew but very awkward to cary), going to the Post Office (No place to sit and stick on stamps)....anyway I was feeling stressed and very wobbly when I got to the escalator.  I just waited a moment while I gauged the right moment to launch myself onto the top step when a lovely elderly man took my arm and said 'Do you need some help there?'  That one small act of kindness in a moment wiped away my fatigue and put a smile on my face.
