The key here is to make sure SEO is worthwhile

Often, the best SEO strategy is to focus on long tail terms—search terms that are highly specific, relevant, and with strong buying intent. Google and Bing have moved far beyond algorithms that positively reward a keyword appearing multiple times in the URL string. Don’t hurt your chances of earning a click (which CAN impact your rankings) by overdoing keyword matching/repetition in your URLs. Keyword research represents the very foundation of your SEO campaign and when done properly, keywords can drive traffic and rankings for your web pages. Keywords represent terms and phrases people type as search queries to find local businesses. As SEOs we always want to understand the impact of site changes. Yet analyzing the data is challenging, especially in an enterprise environment with frequent site pushes and page updates. One of the biggest challenges is tracking when the change happened, what exactly was the change and what other changes might have occurred which would impact the analysis. It seems like content should be engineered for an outcome. If you just start with an article and then ask yourself how to get traction to this everywhere, that doesn’t always work.

Focus more on Brand building

For those of you wondering, “index” is another name for the database used by a search engine. So “to index” a page is to have it added to that database. In other words, Google has discovered your page. The mobile version of your website is equally important, if not more important than the desktop version. Mobile-first, they say. Fact is, that your website probably has as many mobile visitors as it has desktop visitors, of course depending on the type of site you have Historically, traffic from search engines has been about a very singular pursuit -- that of rankings. It is advisable to check regularly on your website’s rank and positions in the SERPs in order to assess whether your SEO measures are having an effect. But because there are also many factors which you cannot influence, you should not get too stressed by rankings. It is perfectly normal if your website sometimes jumps 1-5 places. But if you manage to get your site 10, 20, or 30 places higher, you should be proud of yourself. Think long term rather than short term. Short term will get you nowhere with SEO.

Make sure you have a responsive design

If you are currently producing five articles a week that get less than 100 visits each, try creating a single keyword-targeted article each week, with more research and more value to your audience, and then actively promote this article to key influencers in your industry. A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect from one URL to another. Whether you’re switching domain names, restructuring your URLs (more on that in the next section), or consolidating content as part of your website redesign, setting up 301 redirects is crucial to ensuring any “SEO juice” from your old URLs gets transferred to your new URLs. The sitemap tells search engines about all the pages on your site, even those that might not be easy to find. A sitemap is very helpful if your site is dynamic or if it has pages with images or rich AJAX that can be hard for bots to discover. It is also helpful for new sites with few links, or sites that have numerous pages not well linked. Sitemaps help search engines do a good job of reading your website and finding your site’s content. So, how does Google determine site quality?Ensuring that your piece of content explores the topic fully across many relevant sub-topics, and doesn’t only provide a thin/generic answer, will help with discovery and perceived value. When writing your articles, you need to keep in mind two things: first is your reader, next are the search engines. You need to make sure that both aspects are taken care of. Make it easy for your readers to understand and digest what you have to say.

It’s tough to track what’s working if you don’t have a consistent flow of online visitors

We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Producing content that ranks well is clearly an important part of writing for SEO. But it’s also about turning those visitors into paying customers." The macro approach to keyword research is necessary for content heavy websites (and optimizing for traffic), but not ideal when doing intent-focused keyword research, as would be the case for Ecommerce, software, or other scenarios where some keyword phrases are going to carry significantly more qualification. As Googlecontinues to improve its ability to deliver hyper-local results, it is critically important to have complete and accurate data in one’s Google My Business profile. Duplicate content is your website’s worst enemy. Google is very serious about penalizing websites with duplicate content, descriptions or titles. Search Engine Optimisation - SEO - Is the art of getting search engines to discover and rank the content on your website. When someone types a query into search engines they run through all the websites they have indexed to give the most relevant ones in the search result.

Use Social Bookmarking To Boost Page Rank

If you don’t want to spend any money on a keyword tool, you can simply google the keyword you want to rank for. Does your site ‘fit in’ with the results Google shows you? Or are the sites on the results pages much larger or more well-established than your website? Backlinks are commonly referred to as one of the top factors Google uses in deciding what sites to show in a search result. The navigation of a website is important in helping visitors quickly find the content they want. It can also help search engines understand what content the webmaster thinks is important. The best practice for internal linking is to think primarily about the user experience. Organically link to assets in a way that streamlines the buyer’s journey. SEO is an ever changing and evolving industry with the search engines updating their algorithms on a weekly and sometimes even daily basis. And while some strategies may go out of fashion or no longer deliver results there are some strategies which have stood the test of time and we believe will always play a critical role in how your website performs in the search engines. In this article, we’ll take a look at these strategies and give you some tips for getting better SEO rankings.

The key here is to make sure SEO is worthwhile

At the same time, you also need to consider something called ‘LSI’ or ‘Latent Semantic Indexing’. This is basically a fancy term that explains how Google now understands actual meaning rather than just looking to match words. The way it does this is at least partly by looking for synonyms and related terms when trying to answer questions. In short, don’t just use the exact keyphrase but be sure to use lots of relevant and related language. A simple site map page with links to all of the pages or the most important pages (if you have hundreds or thousands) on your site can be useful. Creating an XML Sitemap file for your site helps ensure that search engines discover the pages on your site. If over time your sitehas acquired an average of 5 links per day, and then the links suddenly start to come in at a rate of 10 per day, that could be seen as a positive ranking signal. On the other hand, if the rate of new links drops to two per day, that could be a signal that your site has become less relevant. What would you type into a search engine to find your business website or page? Make the content flow easily to keep people intrigued and reading.
