The Itchy and Scatchy Show
so...i hope i'm overreacting because i know once you've had any sort of reaction to lamictal you can't take it again and so far it's been the best medication for my moods...but damn. i am so prickly and itchy in the last couple of days, and i can't remember if it was this way before i doubled my dosage. i don't think so; but now i'm thinking now that wasn't such a bright idea and i should have stepped up slowly as opposed to just changing the routine from one pill to two. so far it's just itchiness and i keep checking for crumbs on my linens or something. and i know it's not bedbugs (ewwww...gross). so why is my skin so prickly? no rash, just itchiness. i want it to go away. i know some meds can cause itchiness and i'm really hoping this isn't some sort of weird allergic reaction as i've still made no progress in securing an appt with the p-doc. I'm going to try stepping down the dosage to 300(?) and see if that helps. i'm crossing my fingers because i'm about to drive myself mad worrying about the invisible creepy crawlies i've imagined in my bed. i'm so frustrated. why are the meds that are supposed to help us so damn complicated. update: i've been bouncing around the internet. the itches and pricklies are more on my right side than my left...i had an outbreak of varicella-zoster virus nearly two years ago. i thought then the outbreak was brought on by stress. i'm fairly stressed now, so maybe this is outbreak #2 ? i really hope not, it was horrible the last time and i scarred. i'd like to not have to go through that again.
