The House is Clean
Dearest, I even washed the curtains in the laundry room. They don't look as neat as when you hang them but they're clean. Most of the yard work is done too! I just have the corner where the morning glories grew and the strip where your black-eyed susans grow left to clean up. Oh, and the tomato plants to chop down and clean up. I think I ruined the kitchen table, I had some tomatoes sitting there ripening and one went bad and stained the wood. I mean it's down in the wood. I'll leave it for a couple of days and then try the bleach trick on it, otherwise I'll have to sand it down and re-linseed oil it next spring. I decided on my winter project. I'm going to finish the kitchen ceiling and repaint the kitchen. Remember I was working on that before my stroke? I have a four day weekend coming up and I have a lot of things to take care of that I took out of storage. The memorial stone is underway. Bruce says he can get it done and in place by the end of the year. Oh, Bruce from Valentine memorials, forgot, you don't know him. Whew, I've been busy! Got the free turkey coupon from the grocery, made me laugh, I'm not going to cook a turkey just for me. Was going like gangbusters today when they played "Smile" on the radio, I remember singing that to you, took a break to cry. Thought about putting the Nat King Cole record on but then I realized that would be the end of work for the day.
Can you take one of these damn cats to stay with you? They absolutely refuse to keep their fur on their bodies, their claws on their feet and the litter in the box. Also I do not need every area rug and every piece of cloth in this house rearranged every night.
Talk to you soon, Love, Your KenĀ
Smile though your heart is aching Smile even though it's breaking When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by If you smile through your fear and sorrow Smile and maybe tomorrow You'll see the sun come shining through for you

Ken,
I think perhaps your Abby sent you that song, Smile. I too have a coupon for a free turkey, I was going to throw it away but decided to go pick up the turkey and donate it to my local food bank. Think about it.
Blessings,
Linda

The local food bank says they can only accept non-perishables. I\'ve got the connections to get that changed but not the time. Maybe at Christmas we\'ll be able to do that.
Strange, I have been singing that song ALOT for the last couple of months and I had never even heard it before this year (saw it on an episode of Glee and it stuck with me).
Your cat paragraph gave me a SMILE. I have been so aggravated with mine. I kicked him out of the house this week (litter box and scratching furniture issues) Set him up a nice cozy, warm spot in the shed with a doggy door. His own little palace,,, That lasted all of one night! He is back in and laying here on my chest as I type. Spoiled Brat! or I am just a sucker for the purring one...
love the post...have had that song at times as well...I\'m sure that she\'s smiling at the thought of the cat keeping you on your toes.. can\'t remember the handy home tip on fixing the wood due to acid from tomato. Might want to just google it...Hugs, Diane
I love your post on the cats. We all have learned so much taking care of life without our loves beside us. In my case it has been his puppy. Penny has been real good though she still looks for him.
hugs,
Cie
