The Homecoming

A year ago (16 days after being admitted and 12 days after her heart surgery) Dina came home from the hospital.  It was a stressful but happy day.  I made lots of trips to the pharmacy to get all the meds in order!  She was doing well but still had 6-8 weeks of recovery ahead, mostly just taking it easy to let the incision heal and resting to rebuild strength.  She was able to do most things for herself but wasn't able to much for our daughter (2.5 at the time), which was hard on both of them.  While it wasn't our life as we knew it, having Dina home was all we wanted.  We had many visitors, were given many meals and were able to do mundane things like run errands together again after 2.5 weeks apart.  Even with the road to recovery still ahead things were looking up.
