The Holidays are upon us!

We are just a couple weeks from Thanksgiving and Black Friday, a short month until my birthday, and just over a month until Christmas. This time of year makes many people anxious because of all the food that is right there for the eating. However, I don't worry about the food as much as I worry about the crowds, the intense budgeting, and the crazy shopping that has to be done.

Much of my family is estranged at this point in life, so we may not be having a huge Thanksgiving buffet, but instead, a smaller affair with the loved ones we are close with. After all, Thanksgiving isn't about what you are eating or where you are doing it, it's about the loved ones you share it with and giving thanks for all of the blessings in your life.

This will be the first Black Friday since my early childhood that we will be actually out with the masses in a sale. We are finally in a position to have the money to splurge on a gift for our home, as well as some nifty gifts and gadgets for our family. We are super excited and are already getting our action plan together, lol. However, I am slightly terrified of the large crowds because I do have an anxiety disorder, but we will get through it!

Every year, I start to make plans for a large birthday bash...then, as the day grows closer, I realize that I don't have enough friends to invite to any kind of party, and the ones I do have probably wouldn't come. So, then I get depressed for a bit and my family usually surprises me with a pretty great day filled with love. Well, I did it all again this year, except for the depression bit. When I found out the new Hobbit movie comes out only a couple days before my birthday, I forgot about any party planning and set my sights on getting some tickets and having a lovely evening with my husband, after a small affair with my loved ones.

I am also looking forward to Christmas this year. I love buying presents for people and watching their faces as they open them. It is always about the giving for me, and a lot less about the receiving. I feel so blessed this year because my husband has a wonderful job and we can truly do some Christmas shopping that will light up all the eyes around our Christmas tree and my sister's! I also can't wait to start decorating and making Christmas candies and cookies! BUT, MY FAMILY WILL NOT DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS BEFORE THANKSGIVING! I love that the stores have started putting everything out because it makes it easier for people on a budget, like us, to shop, but decorating and putting up your tree before Thanksgiving is just going too far to me, lol.

During this time, I hope to create, and stick to, a diet and fitness routine. I want to shed some pounds this holiday season! Good luck to everyone and stay strong!
