The Holiday Mother's Day....When 1912
Did you know that there was not an official Mother's Day until 1912, and Father's Day was not created until after someone heard a message about Mother's Day.
Sometimes, I wonder, as I have watched my mom just hate Holiday's and always sad because they do not turn out like she wants it to or expects it to, I have thought why have these Holiday's
I know in our life time all of our lives, we have practiced Mother's Day.
My question is this: I am sad everyday, but because Sunday is named a national holiday for Mother's in 1912, that makes us be even sader.
United States set the day to be the 2nd Sunday in May. Other places celebrate it on a different days. Then the International Day for Women just happens to be on my birthday March 8, who really celebrates that.
So isn't it really amazing that before the late 1800's and not until 1912, there was not an official Mother's Day.
I think there is so much emphasis put on Holiday's and we sit and wait to hear from our families and sometimes some do and sometimes some don't and that is what is sad.
Don't get me wrong, I would be upset if I did not hear from my kids on Mother's Day, and I will miss hearing from Ken this year, but if it had never been started, then it would just be another day in our lives. I know we can't erase it from our minds even though we wish we could especially since we lost our child.
So because we are human, we will still be sadder on Sunday cause it is called Mother's Day. But if we could remember, we are mother's everyday and everyday is what makes us special.
For all of us who have lost our child and this will be our first year, I hope for you and me some special blessing on Sunday. For all of us who have lost a child no matter how long, I hope all of you and me too some special blessing this coming Sunday.
Just want all of you to remember, you are such good friends, and I would not come this far without DS and all your show of love and concern. And hope that your day is not too sorrowful Sunday, just remember your always a mother.
