The hits just keep on rocking...

I found out this past weekend that I have diabetes 2; another life changing adjustment. It will make me take a daily itemized look at my physical health which may also help alter my mental health - have to look at the glass as half full.
I felt very weak during the wee hours of the morning last Friday & felt on the verge of passing out. The EMTs said my blood sugar levels were extremely elevated and if I hadn't acted, I may have entered into a diabetic coma. I lost weight from not eating and although I was dehydrated, nothing I drank quenched my thirst; NOTHING. All fluids passed right thru me and I just continued to feel very weak/tired; even thought I was hallucinating. First depression, anxiety, now this. I admit turning to sweets, unhealthy snacking, etc to mask some of my troubles since I don't feel I have control of my life or future right now. Alot of this happened on my return trip from DC (3hr drive) where I lightly drifted asleep behind the wheel even after making numerous bathroom stops. I felt I had a co-pilot (& I don't mean my GPS) - perhaps my guardian angel to get me safely back home...
