The Halloween Harvest Party
hi friends, hope you are having a boo-tiful day and evening!
Our bldg. had a Harvest Party. We used to have a Halloween party where some people dressed up and they awarded a cash prize for the best costume. Then our manager announced "you people are too old to go trick and treating". That was rather harsh. So now we have a Harvest Party.
Basically it was just a meal. I thought there might be a little bit of entertainment, but no.
They served us a southern dish called Brunswick Stew. It's kind of like chicken soup with everything but the kitchen sink added! Besides bits of chicken, it had little pieces of corn, potato, beans, tomato. It's rather good, actually--better than it sounds. Along with the stew they gave us cornbread, hot apple cider, and a petit four for dessert. A petit four is a fancy name for a cupcake that's square shaped instead of round.
We also got a treat bag to take home. It contained bite size snickers and milky ways.
Also a DS friend had sent me a treat bag, so I still have some goodies left!
We had some rain during the last couple of days, but today was nice, sunny and about 60 degree high. As you know, we change our clocks to Standard Time on Sat. night. Hate to see that.

Glad you went. Too old for dressing up? I used to dress up to give out candy when I lived in the city. No kids here, to isolated. Yes the clocks fall back next weekend. Not looking forward to that. Freezing rain today & cold. Hugs! Brooke
