The Gray Cup

SEnuke: Ready for action

The Cup was donated in 1909 from the then Governor General of Canada, Lord Earl Grey. The glass was to be recognized to the most effective amateur rugby soccer team in Canada. Currently Canadian rugby had become acutely different from the rugby union soccer from which it began. The Cup, with time, became the home of the Canadian Football League, which is known as the CFL. The CFL had evolved and become a professional group that played Canadian football. The college football teams compete now for that Vanier Cup.
