The good, the bad and the ugly

Up till Sunday, I had had 17 great days in a row! Little to no pain, my headaches were very minimal, and my hands weren't as constricted.  I felt fantastic! Then BAM! Sunday I woke up and felt like I got hit by my husbands semi truck and then drug behind his trailer. Today has been a bit better but my hands and wrists are still constricted. This is the part that bothers me the most, the ugly part. I used to paint and draw, do hair and makeup, write in some pretty amazing script and now I just have a hard time typing and even cooking. A few weeks ago, I needed to change my Sentsy, it was hot! I picked it up with one hand and put it in the other. I didn't feel a thing. It's so hard not to be able to do fancy hair for my girls or even myself anymore. I don't even know if they miss it or not. I used to do their hair every day, now it's on a very limited basis. I know I miss getting all dolled up. I miss getting my nails done and having those couple of hours with my friends. I just can't hold my arms and hands that way for that long.
I guess I can hope for more days like the 17 that I had. I know that I have come to cherish them dearly and savor every moment that I can.

Hey mom! I hear all of waht you are saying, loud & clear. Its amazing how everyone of us complins of much the same hold on our bodies. The adrenyline is still there and can be amazing on pain, but it only can strech so far. The longer I take it, the harder the crash. So much post tauma stress, pain, nerves pulling etc... I say my quadraplegic body is tripping out yet I look so normal to others. Used to do hair and now its a quick cut with the razor for my thinning hair and my sons beautiful hair grows months before I can trim it. I keep finding other simpler ways to make art & design in my home and cook. I need my chair more & more. Upper went first now lower is kicking!
Just found in the Reeve Foundation Studies they say we will not have a syrinx without cord tethering. There are more NS\'s that treat this, am checking one out @ Emory\'s Dept of Neuroscience. Booked in July for Feb 13\'.
Keep praying and pushing forward, none of us are ammune. The best thing you can do is schedule life, but be willing to compromise... My chair and new van give me sooooooo much more ability. Getting a new ramp today under warranty on my Honda Odyssy Touring!!! They\'re are going to try and speed up my donated chair for now so I can move as fast as I once did in the mall, at the movies, anywhere
