The good ol'days

I worked the morning shift today and went to fill the company van up with gas and 64.00 later it was full. 64.00!!! thats horrable. I would like to know what in the world happened to the good ol' days? the good ol' days when it cost less than 20 bucks to fill your gas tank from empty? the good ol' days when you could turn on the news and all you hear about is that researchers are on the fast track to finding cure for cancer or AIDS.When the news talked about good deeds people were doing for strangers, what new prodjects local schools were working on. These days you turn on the news to find out which countrys started another war today. Who killed who. What celebrity is going to jail now. What country is in crises and begging for help. What happened to the good ol' days when you turned on cartoons to find garfield, smurfs, fraggle rock, muppets, you know the good cartoons. Now all you find is all cartoons are full of violence and sexual induendos, curse words, killing. what happened to the good ol' days when if your car broke down in the middle of nowheres you could stand out on road and throw that thumb up and a nice person always stopped to help and you could get in the car without a second thought. These days  when your car breaks down you hide inside praying that the local psyco killer wont find you, you wont be kidnapped or raped and the tow truck driver gets to you before the battery on you cell phone dies. What happened to the good ol' days when you could play out side all day and into the dark and walk the mile home from your friends house without your parents calling missing persons on you cause you werent home before the street lights came on and they didnt have to worry someone snatched you of the side of the road? What happened to the good ol' days when you could say "merry christmas" to someone without worries about offending them? What happwned to the good ol' days when people worked for a living rather than spunge off the goverment and causing hard workers like us living in debt trying to keep up with paying taxes? What happened to the good ol' days when it didnt cost 20.00 a person to go to the movies and have a small popcorn and drink, when you could go enjoy a movie with your 5.00 allowence and buy popcorn, a drink and candy bar without having to budjet for it and wonder if you will have to put off a bill just to take your family out? What happened to the good ol' days when parents could afford to give an allowence to thier children? What happened to the god ol' days when the only drills in school were fire drills? Now there our bomb drills, gun drills, classes on what to do if someone trys to kidnap you, classes on how to have safe sex in 4th grade!, classes on how to avoid being raped, classes on the "buddy system".Students sleeping with teachers, teachers chasing after 12 yr olds, teachers spying on students on locker rooms, clear back packs, metal detectors and school front doors. What happened to the good ol' days when your biggest fear was not having a date friday night like all your friends? What happened to the good ol' days when your biggest fear wasnt losing ANOTHER baby? What happened to the good ol' days when OUR babies didnt die just other peoples? What happened to being so nieve about life and taking everything for granted? What happened to the good ol' days when my baby was still alive?
