The future....
OK, im here thinking about the future now... i want to go to college. i need to go. i have to make a life for me and my baby. its so frustrating.... i cant work, not just cause of this pregnancy, but because if i work. then i make to much to qualify for assistance. and i have to wait till the baby comes out, so i can apply for financial aid as a single mom, so im playing the waiting game, and i dont like it. i want to know when to do something, when i will start. ugh. and then there is the thing of what to do.... i want to do animal science or marine biology... then i could use my video skills and still maybe get to where i can do documentaries, i used to want to work for national geographic or the discovery channel, just filming things... that would be great. and this way i would have the science behind the filming. then there is the thing of, well, i would LOVE to do that, but is it going to provide enough income and stability? i mean, the kid can travel with me once it is old enough, but im trying to make smart choices for a new career that is going to be around, and be easy to find a job. once im done with all this, i never want to go back to dealing cards or bartending, or any side job. i want what i choose to be enough. then there is forensic science, and while i like science, i dont like the math... actually, i dont think i could make it through the math... so that is becoming more and more far fetched. then there is psychology.... and i think there is always a demand for things like that... but im not sure if i can handle dealing with the system.. though i do think i would be a great counselor, and be able to help others, because i have had so many experiences myself. I just want a life... and i dont know where to start, but i want to start now, but im just waiting.. playing the waiting game for answers. i dont like the idea of being dead broke for the next few years.... but what else can i do? the only way to have this funded, and to get enough in loans to do this is to be broke, cause working, i dont make enough to fund college, but i make to much to qualify for financial aid. and i want to work as little as possible, because i want to focus on the college and the work... i want to get it done as fast as possible.. and as efficient as possible. im ready to get on with my life... im ready to be OK. i want to be able to go on a vacation... take the kid with me... and not have to plan for a year or two to be able to afford it. ive never been a big fan of buying a new car.. just because of depreciation and all the money lost in a car. but damnit, i could never afford one ither. and i want to be able to drive what i want to drive... whatever it is. i want to be comfortable. i want my horses, i want my ranch. and i want to NEVER EVER, have to rely on a man again. i NEVER want to be hurt like this, because my only option was him or the street. next time, he can just get the hell out of my house... and i wont have a second thought.

And all the things you want, I know you will achieve. Look how well you\'ve done up til now, all the hurdles you\'ve overcome. You can do anything you set your mind to. Go for it! x

I just had a talk with my step mom, she told me she was happy that i am home, that she thought everyone would clash but that its working out well. that my dad said he would help me go to college as much as possible, so i might be able to stay here, and they can get certified and watch the baby for me when it comes!!! and dshs will pay them. im not sure yet, still a ways off, but our talk made me feel better.
its the first time in a long time i feel like someone actually cares. i had thought they were taking me in out of duty, not cause they wanted to help me or cared. so this made me feel good. i need things like this, cause i do feel very rejected, especially after what my real mom did, and after all the crap he has put me through... i just pray this works... i want this to work... i want to feel worth something... i want my dreams...
and i dont need a man to share them with... i will have my baby. and it IS my baby. i dont see anyone else going pee every 5 minutes... and throwing up. it will never be his baby, it is mine. yea, we made it together, so what, his 10 minutes of fame... all hail the great sperm donor.
He will see exactly how smart i am, and exactly what i can do. he thinks he has dreams, and goals, and that he would try to take a family away from me? cause i was dragging him down? well i will be there, looking down at him...
Remember my dear friend, you have nothing to prove to anyone - you are already a wonderful person. If you want to do these things - further yourself and live your dreams you are doing it for you and your baby - this is important. I am so glad that you are dreaming dreams and reaching out towards goals and aspirations. If you don\'t dream it - it can\'t happen. Inspiring stuff.
Hugs to you today Suzi
You Go Girl! You can do anything you set your mind to. You and your baby will go places.
why does someone always have to rain on my parade??? geesh. my suposed best friend thinks i should just get a job at mcdonalds and put off college till i can afford it.
you know, i will NEVER be able to afford it. who the hell can afford college? not to many people are so fortunate to have parents pay for it. who the hell can just say ya, i have 60,000 dollars or more, im ready for college. the point is, there is no putting things off anymore... so if it doesnt work out? oops... looks like i will be in debt again.. compulsive gambler here.... like i aint used to that.
screw mcdonalds. im better than that. id rather not work, than to work there.
Here\'s something that worked for me Drac. I got a job that paid college tuition to classes that pertained to that job or a job within this company. I had 90% of my degree financed by my employer. because I had two young kids at the time, I took only 1 to 2 classes per quarter so it took longer to get my degree but I got it! Just thought I\'d mention this cuz maybe it could work for you in the future. Keep dreaming and make those dreams come true.
If you want to go to college, the sooner the better. DOn\'t let your \"friend\" deter you; where there is a will, there is a way. The Goddess has taught you that.
Go to college, your baby will be better off for it. If at all possible, make it happen. It will only get harder as the baby grows up. You deserve to do what you want, to be happy, and to raise a family. Start now. I am glad you are here on DS.
