The future

After my surgery and diagnosis of PM, I was so grateful that I had a job that allowed me to work from home.  I was in too much pain and my walking was too unsteady to go into an office.  My last position was great.  It allowed me to work from home three out of five days of the week.  I made a really good salary and had nice benefits.  I would probably still be there if they had not been forced to close due to bankruptcy.  I took my current position because it did allow me to work from home at the same pay rate that other companies were offering that required me to commute.  Recently I have felt that I am working beneath my qualifications and not receiving any joy or satisfaction in my work.
I was working under a level of fear that due to my illness no one would hire me and then today after a conversation with a leader who has no skills at leading, I realized that it is time to go.  She let it be known that the company that I work for has no idea what experience we as a employee group have and that in her words we don't matter and are just a body in a seat.  Not I.  I also realized that the industry has changed so much that it is time to step away from the branch that I work in.  I actually was smiling when I realized that God had spoken to my heart and to my mind and said "yes you can" yes it is time to leave and you are fine".  I immediately looked over my resume and online at a position that I plan to apply to tomorrow.

The pay is less, but it isn't about the money.  I am also working on a couple of other small home-based businesses that I plan to start soon, a cake baking business and a infant care business when my legs are stronger.  I have three cakes that I love to bake and I plan to keep 2 babies only.  I am not trying to get rich, I just want to support myself on my terms.  I won't be a butt in anyone's seat and I refuse to work for companies who have no idea what I bring to the table.  I am Blessed and feel the love of the Lord in every area of my life.  I feel really good about this decision.  It is my time in 2012.

That\'s right Brenda, you do not have to put up with that disrespectful work environment. I know you will find something that will work for you that brings you joy and satisfaction and respect.
Love and Light,

Thank you. I just feel so good right now that I have let go of that fear. The strangest thing is that I had no idea I was living in fear, until I thought about my options. I have worked for so long and done so many things. My daughter had spent the last couple of nights at her best friend\'s house over in Orlando, we live in Tampa and when she came in today she said that she wants us to move back over to Orlando, which we had discussed previously and I was happy that she wanted to go back. I can open my small home-based businesses there and find other work. I also have supportive friends over there. All of this is God\'s work. My church is over there and my daughter has a church that she had been attending while a student at UCF that she wants me to visit. It is all looking goof. I can still keep my great doctors at USF since it is only an hour drive from Orlando. Thank you Lord for your Blessings.
