The End & The Beginning

I am saddened by the loss of my lifeThough I'm not dead a part of me has diedI cry for the part of me that is lostA person who laughed and played, now just weepsI had fun and friends that I enjoyed being withBut now sit in pain and can barely moveI miss the daily tasks I took for grantedOh the things I miss, cooking, showering, and gardeningOnce simple, are now difficult A new day has come and the sun is shiningI say goodbye to my old life and welcome the new oneI may not be the same old me but I am a new meLooking ahead to the light and I'm freed from darknessThough some days may be gray and bleak, I treasure the days filled with sun lightI cherish my old friends and soon find new ones on my journeyGoodbye old life and hello to my new life
