The end of a long day

Well, I made it through the day and stayed on my diet! (except for one little taste of iceing when I was cutting my sons b-day cake) oopsy!  I also still ate eggs, a banana, and some homeade yogurt.  I'm still unsure about following the beginning of the diet as strict as I'm suppose to.  I started out doing it wrong and I just don't know if I can go back and to the "true" intro diet.  I met with my family physician this afternoon.  He got the results back from my 2nd test for c-diff and it, once again, came back negative.  I still have my doubts.  I know it can be hard to detect sometimes.  He mentioned having "short bowel syndrome".  I've heard about it but need to do more research.  I also want to get my GI's opinion (unfortunately he's out of town this week).  Even though I've had 3 surgeries and around 3 feet removed, the surgeon seemed to believe I still had plenty left to absorb nutrients.  I'm going to start back on Questrin and start taking anti-diarrhea medicine.  I'm still unsure how much?  I guess what does the job, huh?  I also had a really positive experience with a pharmacist my mom took me to see after my doctors appointment.  He was very into diet and how it effects your health.  It was so nice to talk with someone who knew and believed all the things I've been researching!  I walked away with some Probiotic Dietary Supplements which I've been interested in taking.  My GI doctor had told me it wasn't necessary for me to take them when I had asked in the past.  I also got a better brand of Fish Oil and some Vitamin D liquid.  I really believe these will help in my healing process!  I was not able to get any pain pills today.  I really wish I had them, but if the doctor didn't find it necessary, than I probably shouldn't be taking them.  I'm not looking forward to tomorrow.  It will be my first day in a long time without any.
