The end of a lighter
Sunday night we had a brief power outage. I went to light a candle and all the Bic lighter would do was spark. It was dead. Finally. This was the lighter that, 40 months ago, I used to light my last cigarette. I've carried it ever since as a tool, just like my pocket knife, for emergency light or heat or burning nylon strings in two (better than a knife). Now I have to replace it. Hmmmm. It's going to be weird, buying a lighter without buying cigs. I sort of hope the cashier asks if I want cigs when I get it. The look on his/her face when I say I quit smoking over 3 years ago might be interesting. Or not. Eve still has hers and it still works. She now uses it for candles and incense. It lives on the shelf next to the stereo. I wonder how long it will last?

Funny shevie, I have a lighter that \"lives\" on my night stand for candles....isn\'t life a trip! I can relate to your wanting the cashier to ask if you want cigs too.....I always bought my cigs at the pet mart where I buy my cat food (best price on cigs, probably make more on tabacco than pet food....anyway) the first time I went to buy cat food after my quit the gal tossed a carton of Virginia Slims up on the counter and I happily said \"I quit\", to this day she still hesitates and then says, \"you still not smoking?\" Oh yeah baby we\'ve come a long way! Good on ya my friend!
i never used a regular bic lighter..i used a freakin\' aim and flame..haha..it \"lives\" on my fridge cuz i use it to light my jar candles..haha.
That is really cool that your lighter died. You need
to have a special \"moving on\" service for it. LOL
Hope that you and Eve are well and recovering from
