The day I've been dreading.....
Well....one more day and it's here...the day I've been dreading since I got married....deployment day. I knew it was coming but it came too fast and actually, a month early. All of our plans that we had made for the next month are called off and all we've been doing for about a week and a half if running around trying to take care of last minute things that we thought we had a month to do. Hubby's also been working alot and though he tries so hard to spend as much time with me as he can, I know he's tired and needs his rest. The did give him some days off and that was very nice but most of those were also spent doing errands and the like. I'm angry and sad and depressed and no one seems to understand why. I support his career 100% and have never and would never ask him to leave the military but I think it's alright if I feel a little bit cheated right now. He was having some time accepting that, saying that everyone else he works with feels the same way. I told him that at the present time I'm not concerned with anyone but myself and he said that was selfish. Of course I know I'm not the only one feeling all of these things but right now I just don't care to hear about how everyone else is going thru it. He's doing his best to be supportive of how I feel just as I am always supportive of how hard he works and how much he does for me as well. I think it will just take some time for me to get into a routine without him (this deployment is longer than normal too so the time frame I had in mind is now extended). Also, my mother has to come all the way down from Ohio to take me to Walter Reed in D.C. because they decided at the last minute that they wanted another MRI (after I had been told numerous times that it wasn't needed) as well as some other tests maybe. I'm glad my mother is so willing to help me out and it also gives me a chance to spend some time with her down here but even so....well, it doesn't matter I guess. I guess the good thing is that my health is still fair and I'm holding my own as much as I can so my husband really doesn't have to leave worrying night and day that something terrible is going to happen in that regard (though he already told me he would). In any event, that's my little "end of the world" situation right now....I'm praying for the strength to continue to be a good wife and not resent his career and if I do happen to feel that way once in a while thru this, I also pray that I have the strength to get over it....goodness knows I'm very proud to be married to him and for all that he does for us and his country. Hugs and prayers....
