The Day After a NCT
Okay, I'm up,in theory. I set an alarm to take early morning thyroid medication then back to sleep for a bit until I could safely take my Gabapentin. After that, sleep until my own body woke. Rest is necessary. I woke with a sensation of being broken plates in a pillowcase after having been struck against a wall repeatedly. I'm in spasm but they are tolerable. My feet hurt still, legs are really weak and sore. I walked with tiny baby steps to the kitchen for coffee. I couldn't bend to put dishes away in lower cabinets. My hips, both, are fully enveloped in nerve pain now. Hope this isn't going to stick around. One hip to the general pain party is enough for me. My throat feel swollen and I had trouble swallowing as my newest surgery site reacts to the insult of nerve excitement. I will be resting, relaxing with books, magazines and movies today. I wish someone would drop a casserole off as I don't relish having to stand at my counter to prepare dinner tonight, but alas, I don't have anyone to do this for my family. This reminds me to do this for others who have testing or get bad results back. Life hits us so hard we tend to focus on ourselves and what we need that isn't fulfilled. I don't want to end up a bitter old lady, bent over with pain and the worries of a selfish life. I must remember you who read this and reach out to you all, for this is healing for us both.
I will be fine, no matter the outcome. Yes, I may cry again over loss or pain, even question why this is happening. I'm human after all. Yet, God promised not to leave me, promised He will provide everyone I require, not want, but need to get through this. I don't know if anything can be done for.me now. I have a friend with DDD who has not been able to have surgery due to the fact all discs, all vertebrate, all nerves are damaged beyond repair. I am not there yet. Soon I too will be a non-surgical patient as the discs deteriorate and the bone spurs take over my spine. How I react now is a learning curve. I must learn to be brave, compassionate to others, patient with family and medical professionals, and above all keep my faith fed on the Word of God daily for renewal and strength.
Gotta go, hand is wracked with nerve pain and my right foot is spasming, nerve waves are running down my left arm again.
Keep the faith friends.

I could feel your pain as you wrote. I detest those feelings.

Gentle hugs my friend.
I was reading my morning scripture, Psalm 18v1-2
