The Day After
It sure was hard to watch Hubs and company drive off yesterday afternoon. The silence after their departure was deafening. Couldn't even hear the wildlife outside the window. The pre-dawn hours are almost always quiet, but even a sleeping presence changes the nature of the quiet to my senses. The quiet of this morning feels much different than the previous two mornings when there were sleeping grown-ups on the compound. ES and SO slept in the garage which is currently outfitted as sleeping quarters. Still, I seemed to feel their presence. I felt urges to run after them like a lonesome yard dog as I watched the trio drive down the hill. Arf, arf, howl. I am still feeling that urge this morning. Yup, this isolation factor needs addressing. Still no clarity on how to address it on a sustainable basis. Small steps. The paperwork is still finalizing. Now is not the time to get impatient. Sigh. God please grant me patience. NOW! ! !
SO has a birthday this week. She is a Leap Year Baby, born on Feb 29th, so technically she has no birthday this year. She honors the passing of another year on either the 28th or the 1st, as convenience dictates. She is as coy as the rest of the family on stating preferences. I am still mostly guessing as to whether she wants a celebration, or not. Don't know if it is my lonesome ache or clues from her that have me guessing she wants a surprise party. Still chewing.
I have no actual plans for the week. Just the on-going list of jobs to be done. Sure is a long list. Far more than one body can do or even track alone. Which will I work on today? It feels like a harder decision than I can handle at the moment. For now, it's guit-chi time. The sun is a-rising. Full songs were coming together easily yesterday. I interpret that as "A Fine Tuning Day." All the pieces are there. Just gotta fine tune 'em. It has been a few weeks since that happened. I have been on a string of "Scale Days." Scales have been coming more easily than songs. I interpret that as a day to tend to the basics. Salute all nag flags.
We see what the guit-chi says today.
