The Dawing of A New Era

Something has shifted with the dawn of 2011. I moved to Daylesford, a spa town just outside Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to reinvent myself and start over almost two years ago. The transition seems to be complete now.
I spent New Years Eve having dinner with a rather large group on a balcony overlooking the Daylesford Lake

Perhaps more importantly I have really become a part of this small community and now have established contacts and friends through dog walking, a local healing network and the University of the Third Age.
It is a bit odd therefore, that I am now moving to a slightly larger town, thirty minutes north of here. Castlemaine is a thriving art community and I have bought myself a home that is within short walking distance of the train that can deliver me in the City within forty five minutes.
After having established such good links I am finding that the prospect of letting go of this haven is playing heavily on my mind. I rented this farm house as a kind of bus stop while I decided what to do.
Perhaps I will simply go on renting it for awhile and establish a shared arrangement and run some classes here.
Or I might accept that I am simply broadening my horizons and a thirty minute drive, through beautiful country, is not such a chore.
Darryl will have been gone four years on the 19th and Mum will have been gone just seven months on the 25th. I am consoled by the fact that it feels like the dawning of a new era and I know they would both be pleased for me, that somehow they have had a hand in orchestrating things.

Wow...it sounds like you have a big decision to make, but also some really good options. It seems like a win-win situation for you and I hope the decision comes easily. Best wishes to you in whatever you choose to do. You are certainly a strong, brave woman. Hugs, Nancy

Odd..I moved from my home 30 minutes from where I am now, same county, different area. I am still able to see my friends from my old place and have met new people here. It may have helped that Bob has lived here 33 years and is well known, it certainly helped.
Driving to a new area may be a good idea for now. Sort of one foot in each place, but a safe feeling of the known. Growing up my family moved every year, something that doesn\'t bother me. As I get older I value having some \'history\' with the people I live among. Something to think about.
Love.....

It sounds as if any decision that you make, after weighing the options, will be a good one. Congratulations on being at the point we are all striving to reach. You have survived the worst journey anyone will make....not once but twice....and you have been strengthened by the journey. Peace and happiness to you as you start the new era of \"You\".
Hugs, Dianne
