The Crash

Sometimes I sit down to write, and words come out easily....other times it is an effort.  I do it when it is an effort because it does me so much good to get my thoughts out here to share with my friends....it does me so much good not to isolate. It's been a stressful couple of days.  My mother was in a head-on collision with a motorcycle yesterday.  She is bruised, but escaped serious injury.  The motorcyclist....well...we are still waiting to find out if he made it.  He was in very bad shape at the accident scene and was airlifted out.... My Mom is so upset by all this, and is praying for him continually.  He was driving at what witnesses said appeared to be over 100 miles an hour, couldn't make the curve in the road and ran into her lane as they both came upon the curve in opposite directions at the same time.  She ran off the road to try and avoid him, but there wasn't much of a shoulder...just a rocky hillside to run up on.  His motorcycle was broken in half, he flew through the air and finally landed and slid even farther down the road with the part of his motorcycle that was still with him.  Her hood was covered with his blood.  She crawled out of the wreckage through the little bit her door would open, as her car was tilted up and lodged in the rocks on the hillside. I am so sorry for this guy...probably about 18-20 yrs old....and I remember when I used to drive too fast at one time when I was very young, for the fun of it.....I am praying he survives and recovers from his injuries. I am so very, very  thankful my Mom wasn't killed.  This is the 3rd headon crash she has survived in her life without serious injury!  I don't know how I would have handled it if she had gotten killed yesterday, I can hardly face even the idea of losing her.  I know losing your parents is a normal part of life....but I love her so much.  The bottled up tears that I've held since yesterday are finally flowing, and maybe I'll feel better now.  I've felt so blue today, couldn't get it out, didn't even connect it with the accident until I started writing.  Whew...My bio-mom died last summer, that was hard.....but this is the woman who claimed me, adopted me, cared for me, sacrificed for me, and loved me through everything.  She is my "REAL" Mom. Thanks to my beautiful friends who take their time to read, comment, and connect with me here in these pages.  I love you all, you are so important to me.

Oh Diane, no wonder you have been feeling a little blue. I pray your mother will be okay and also pray for the young man on the cycle. How awful, and how awful your poor mom must have felt when she had no control over what was happening right in front of her. Be there for your mom, she needs you now. My thoughts and prayers are with you my dear friend.

Dianne, I\'m so sorry hun. What an awful, scary thing to deal with. Not only does the idea of losing your mom haunt you, but thoughts of the poor young man on the bike make you sad. I feel so awful for your mom, what a traumatic experience for her. Thank God she escaped without major injury. Being there for her is important, but remember to take time for yourself to deal with those feelings this brought up in you.
Sending you and your mom my love and prayers...
Love you, Julie

I am so sorry you and your family are having to cope with this right now. So glad your mom is ok. Hopefully the young man will be ok, too. Maybe this will be a lesson not only for him, but for many young people on the consequences of their actions while driving. It\'s good and healthy to let your thoughts and sadness out, don\'t keep it all in. That\'s what leads us to trouble. Hope today goes a little easier for you. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

OMG Dianne! I am soo sorry! That is horrible! Your poor mom! I just can\'t imagine how she feels. I hope this kid makes it so she won\'t have to feel responsible for his death even though it sounds like he was the one to blame. My b/f and I ride all the time, but we are much older and don\'t care to go fast at all, just for that reason. Do you know if this kid was wearing a helmet? Oh, I just can\'t imagine what you\'re family is going though right now. I didn\'t know you were adopted. I was as well, but have not had the privilege of meeting my bio-mom. I understand how you feel about adopted mom being \"mom\". I lost mine 5 years ago and feel lost many days. Help your mom hang in there. I\'m praying for this kid that he makes it. Hopefully he will learn a very valuable lesson; that he is not invinsable. Let me know, please, if you need anything!

Oh my! I\'m so glad your mother is OK! I hope the young man will pull through! I have many friends that \"ride\" and I\'ve lost several because of the way they \"rode\". I hope that your mother doesn\'t balme herself. She did all she could do to avoid the wreak. I\'m glad you were able to finally let some fear out through your tears, sometimes it just takes a while for the shock to wear off. I\'ll say a prayer for all. Peace and Love. Patty

Dianne, I\'m so sorry. I\'m praying the motorcyclist makes it, too. Your poor mom, I feel so bad for her, it wasn\'t her fault at all, and yet she still must be wondering why it happened, it\'s one of those kind of things in life we all hope we never have to live through, and now she has. And you\'re suffering with her, too, cos\' you love her, that\'s a beautiful part of being a mom, and a daughter. I miss mine, may she rest in peace. Dianne, I love you, be good to your ma, she needs you right now, Love, Robin

Dianne, great comment about your \"REAL\" mom. My wife and I adopted both of our children when we found out my wife could not have children. They are the geatest thing in my life. My wife and I have protected them; raised them and loved them every minute of thier lives. Great comment about the connection to your real mom. THANK YOU
