The Birthday
The presents are bought and wrapped. I still don't have the confidence to set the party stage any further than that. The father unit has promised to bring the grandson and his sister over for a party, but the parental units are near enough to divorce proceedings that it is hard to know what will actually happen. The mother unit's presence was indicated in the informal RSVP for four attendees, but. . . ?Quien sabe? Yo no. For certain, I don't want the joy of sending yet another supply of party goods to the local landfill. I've thought about looking for places to donate them, but when the time comes, I never seem to have the heart to look for a recepient. The presents are non-perishable. They can sit in a corner until the next round of grand-time. I am fairly confident the mother unit doesn't hate her in-laws enough to take grandparents away from her kids. Fairly. Another shrug of uncertain shoulders. Que sera sera.
Anxiety levels are high. Gut knots forming. Plying therapy tools.

Pat yourself on the back for what you did do, and ignore any drama. The most important thing is the children have a good time! :)
Sending hugs. Hopefully it goes well
The party happened and was good for all. Thanks for the support.
