The Big White Fluffy Dog
Today I am on my way to church to practice for our music...As I turned on one street coming toward me is this big Beautiful White Long Hair Dog....Male or Female I do not know, but I will refer to the dog as her>>>>>
On her face was this first, this look of determination....have you seen a dog have that look...also
She had the look of sparkle in her eyes....
She also was panting as it is very hot here today....and after I had passed her I looked around to see if there was in water left over from our storms...I saw none.
As I passed her she never ventured out into the street, she remained on the side of the road...with a mission....then I had to decide what my mission should be as I watched her continue down the road in my mirror....
Should I continue to church to practice, which I was running late...or should I turn around and help the dog....check to see if she had a collar on....I watched as a truck turned and with hope was thinking maybe it is the truck's dog and they would stop...but they continued and as they turned into their drive, I still hoped they would go back....but no...
Then there came a person riding a bike...The dog crosses over and she crosses at the stop sign...Well trained?? so I think maybe she knows the biker...by that time
I can not see if they meet...I continue to a point where I am about four blocks from her and at that point could have turned around.....I look at the clock it is 10 minutes to eight...I have to be at church at 8...so I decide to continue on to church.
All morning at church, I worry about the dog...I thought about the little dog that got somehow taken or swept away during the AL storms and walks on two broken front legs back home after three weeks...But she too was determined.
After I got to church I realized, I had water in the car, why didn't I stop and give her some water....running late for practice...I really didn't feel I had time to stop...
Then I got to thinking...:What would Jesus had done? What should I have done? I thought of reasons not to stop, I didn't know if she was aggressive and I was alone, I didn't know if she had had her rabies shot, so should I take the chance..I had several reason that I came up with that said you can't stop....
In my heart I feel she made her way home...where ever that was....She had that look and no one was going to stop her....
At church I share this with others, I share it with my husband....so on the way home we are in different cars....he looks for her....I am behind him I look for her. I even continue down the road farther thinking maybe just maybe I will see her laying on one of the lawns under a big tree rested and watered...I did not find her. But again, I will say I think she made it home.....
Just in case someone called the "dog catcher' I will check on Tuesday to see.
But she made me think of us mom's....It made me think how much we need each other...How we need to know that there is someone that cares what we are feeling...that if we are feeling sad....someone will listen, read, respond and help us on this journey that we are traveling.
As this Big White Fluffy Dog....she knew where she was going, it showed on her face...I did not know where she was going...but I knew in her heart she was headed home....
Just as us mom's we know where we are heading...we know most of us have a long way to go...but just as the Big Dog had the determination to make it to see her family.....so we mom's do too....
We will do as much as we can do...we will continue to push forward...we will get tired and sad as we push ourselves toward our goal....Just as the Big White Fluffy Dog....we will keep that determination, we will continue to travel this road, we will continue to get tired, we will continue to be sad.....but when the time come...as
Just as I believe the Big White Fluffy Dog will make it...I too believe we Will Make It Too... the struggle may be hard....and it may be long...but with like the determination on the Big White Fluffy Dog when she gets home and sees her happy family...she will once again be able to know that "All is Well".....just as we continue our journey...with our determination.....and it is our time to go home....and we see our happy family..once again we will be able to smile and know "All is Well....With My Soul!

that is beautiful Sandi... our hearts do expand and reach out to all, with such compassion. it is well with my soul!
I love this journal. (I must admit to being concerned about the Big White Fluffy Dog though!) If we believe, that NO MATTER WHAT, \"All is Well With My Soul\"... it will be. Sometimes we have to get out of our own way. I am learning this.
At least today...
LOVE to you dear Sandi for your always inspiring and always heartfelt journals,
May all be well with your soul.

Great entry. As I continue to push forward, I\'m doing alot of \"panting\" myself. Thank goodness for all of you here that I can lean on when my determination wavers and I get sidetracked. Sending you love and hugs. Robin

Hi Sandi,
I don\'t think there would ever be a way for you to honor Ken as well as you do with this journal entry.
Leda
That\'s a great journal Sandi. I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you.
LOts of Love xxxxx
Hi Sandi, and also Your journal about how you felt about the lovely \'big Beautiful White Long Hair Dog\' you saw on your way to church, was great to read cos it shows you are \'feeling something\' (its important too) and relating it to your life\'s journey is very good to do. It\'s \"Good for your Soul\" . Also even noticing her and interpreting \'her\' presence in your environment is important... that is directly linked to your soul & to Ken\'s. I believe that anyway, it helps us to notice the symbols along the way.
Lots of LOve xxxx
Great journal! I love the dog\'s determination. You are right, we all need that nose to the ground got to complete the task attitude to get through each day.
Hugs Penny
Thanks for sharing! We Will Make It! We have one another.
Hugs, Marlene
Sandi, that was beautiful. I\'m sure we will all make it, but it sure is hard as you know . God Bless you, Love Susan
Thank you, I already feel better, just reading it. You are such a dear and sensitive soul. Of course, our boys, our deeply spiritual boys, didn\'t get their hearts and souls from nowhere else. The missing is dreadful. The love doesn\'t diminish. Our paths are long and difficult. Love the white dog. abby
Sandi you have such a gift for turning the simplest of things like seeing a dog running into a beautiful metaphor of love and caring. Terry
Sandi...this is a lovely journal. I think that your white fluffy dog...IS so much like us moms...we must persevere...and we WILL make it home. Love and hugs...Karen
Very interesting journal, Sandi. I also hope the dog made it home ok but it was probably prudent of you to let her go. You never can tell if the dog will bite --and you had no one to help you if something would have happened. I bet with her determined look, she was going to be alright.
Just like I feel if we are determined and do our griefwork when it presents itself to us, resolving \"The Issues\" we have a much greater chance of \"making it ok.\" There is much truth in this journal entry for us all!
Love+Hugs, Donna
